Almost got me Pine.

Wanted to start at page one, but I know what might be there.

A click glance and it was confirmed. Straight to page 3.

Special thanks to the board members that got the thread to page 2 and 3 so all would not have to suffer Pines page 1 exploits. Specially since I just had my eyes checked and don't want to go back to have the perception adjusted again.

New York Review and BRK Preview

They gave Temple some props.
Webster getting right with his ankle. Dropped 30 pts.

They get this one and find themselves climbing back to .500% and things will start getting exciting again.

Hilario (Achilles) is probable for Wednesday's game against Brooklyn, the Washington Post reports. (about 5 hours ago)

I'm shocked to see a prediction like this from you. Where will we turn for inspiration now.

Nene is on minutes restrictions (which is how it prolly shoulda been the whole time) and Beal is actually going to be held to under 30 this time they say.

Lopez is also starting for BRK...This will be a hard game to win, but I honestly don't think the Nets will be considerably better then us by years end. I was sold on them pre-preseason, now you see they're just as reliant as we are on Wall with Williams.

Hopefully Gortat doesn't get bitched by Lopez again.

Best 9-15 team money can buy.
Well next to NY who is 7-17

Which I still expect both to make the playoffs.

Just find it hard to believe those teams don't start to gel and get healthier. Health is always an issue. And with team like those two it was a big issue. But they are talented teams. BRK more so then NY though. But both should rebound.

Lets hope just not yet. Going to be a touch game. Hopefully we have Nene back.

Agreed. I like to play match-ups as much as the next guy, but I think it's a bad idea to constantly shuffle the starting rotation just to try and make things line up right.

We have a starting line up ?

Well normally its only Webster or Ariza being shuffles. But Beal, Wall, Nene and Gortat always start (when healthy)

no way. Dont overthink things. Beal is a top notch player. You dont bench him because of size. Size also works both ways. Beal should be too quick for him.

Furthermore, dont forget that Pierce doesnt start anymore. Anderson does. He's a solid player but Beal can guard him if size is a problem and let Ariza guard Johnson. Thats what I expected anyways. Let Webster matchup with Pierce off the bench

Beal has been inconsistent and his PPA is lower than Webster. Webster IS more of
a 'top notch' player than Beal /right now/. 2 years from now I hope and somewhat
expect that to be different than it is right now. And I don't look at it as a benching
per se. Beal is still going to play and probably for about the same amount of time.
I just think Webster has the potential to defend JJ better than Beal does.

I wouldn't call that overthinking. I would call that drawing your conclusions from the
actual data, both their respective size and results to date.

But maybe as you say it won't matter because TA will guard JJ and let Beal take on
the lessor challenge.

I think that is way too small of a sample size. Look, I like Web but there is no way I can watch him & Beal play and say if I had one game right now, who would I take. I would stilll take Beal. I still like his game overall better right now. Im not even talking about age or potential.

Beal wasnt playing perfect but it was early. Wall wasnt playing great either. Beal sucked teh whole 1st half of last year. You can tell he came into this season just thinking he was on the verge of stardom and could average 25ppg. It was assisted by Wall being passive. I think sitting & watching will help him. I expect his percentages to go way up right now after watching.

As for size & defense, my point is this. If he's your guy then he's your guy. JJ is going to have a size advantage on him forever so are you going to bench him that game in the future also? If you are good then you are good. Everyone has there advantages. JJ might light him up in the post. Its up to Beal to overcome that, atleast on the other end. This is what makes you better. You dont bench him. You go the oppostie way and force him to play against things like that because he will need to. All in all though, I think Ariza will guard him since he's pretty hot right now

Huge Webster fan, but the only thing Webster has on Beal is experience. Beal is going to be way better. He can already drive and create separation better.

But Webster is an ice cold spot up shooter from range and he will get his hands dirty getting rebounds when needed.

Webster is more a Korver type. Now its time for him to get that going again. Only .411 from 3 on the year. Lets see him get that to .450

Korver is at .487 on 119 attempts. Time for Webby to get it going.

dlts20 wrote:trust me, I dont like the matchup great but I just think that at some point a guy gets to the level where you dont bench him and I think Beal is there. I mean there are some stretch 4's that could give Nene fits but I wont bench him because of it. Plus, Im always super intrigued by matchups like that. I love to see JJ post up and see how physical Beal can get with him. Then on the other end I love to see how a 6'8 guy is going to stay with a lil quicker guy. All that stuff intrigues me.

Also, its about what are you trading. If you add in Web to match his size, I think the Nets feel like Web is bigger but if JJ is on top of his game like he currently is then JJ is better then Web in everything. However, if its Beal then JJ has some advantages and disadvantages

I would have no problem putting Temple on him and saving Beal to chew up the second unit. Pops would do that in a second.

Nene available.

Glen Rice Jr out - Wrist surgery.

http://www.monumentalnetwork.com/videos ... e-12-18-13

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/10160 ... api_public

WASHINGTON -- Washington Wizards guard Glen Rice Jr. has had surgery on a broken right wrist and will be sidelined three to six weeks.

The Wizards announced that Rice had an outpatient procedure Wednesday in New York.

The team said Rice had experienced pain in his wrist leading up to Monday's game against the New York Knicks.

Doesn't change anything. He didn't play last game and they are getting Nene back.

Wall, Beal, Webster, Trevor A, Nene, Gortat.. 6 core start quality players.
Ves is getting 20 off the bench. Booker has become reliable for minutes. that's 8
Otto, Kevin, Temple, Singleton utility players for extended bench. Thats 12
And Maynor who could still find some usefulness with the right line up bulling up the rear. That 13

With Beal limited to 25-30 mins, I would guess Temple gets some burn for 10 minutes back up Wall/Beal.

That's a decent roster.... Lets go win a game.
