Not to say that he is irreplaceable because he is not BUT, that "Duke" BBIQ is going to be hard to replace. Battier is always on the right spot, making the right switch and always helping with the play development with screens, drags, slashes, movement etc..

A defensive minded 3pt shooter should be easier to find. To get that guy to do all of the above as well? That is another story.

You're right. Battier is one of those guys who's just right for a championship squad.

Hopefully the Sixers do us a solid and trade us Spencer Hawes for scraps (ie Joel Anthony, Rashard Lewis, James Jones, & their 1st rounder).

i would rather have Thad Young then Hawes

We already have Beasley as a scoring undersized PF. Don't need young too, but Hawes we can use.

Quicy Pondexter would fit the bill here. Young, Cheap, can defend and most importantly can shoot the 3's. He would be a great fit here, He is a Heat type of player.

I talked earlier about Jimmy Butler. Someone like that could be a replacement for Battier.
However, the Bulls are stupid and will let Deng walk or trade him. That means Butler moves to the 3 spot for them and they draft someone to play the 2. Those savvy 3 and D guys who are ready to do the dirty work. That's what we will need as Battier's replacement.

Admittedly I haven't watched too much Quincy Pondexter but from what I've seen he looks to be a more athletic Shane who doesn't shoot quite as well. I may be way off base though since I rarely watch him play.

This trade doesn't work a few reason, but more importantly Im honestly not sure Thad Young brings anything that Beasley can't. Maybe Im drinking the Beas koolaid but I think Beas can become a slightly better version of Thad Young if he keeps getting minutes and working on what he needs to.

Thad is a good player stuck on a terrible team. He does a lot of things really well but not anything particularly great. He's a smart consistent player. Ina veteran system like the spurs/heat he can shine. I do agree with your statement on Beasley though. If he can start establishing a role on this team I think he can make a run for 6th man. Thad would be a luxury for us no doubt but I'd still love him on this the dude can play

NBA Rumor Talk
The Pacers and the Celtics are trying to work out a trade.

Pacers get: Rondo
Celtics get: Danny Granger and George Hill

Probably indiana have to throw some picks in it. I dont mind this trade. Not a great fit , rondo cant shoot from outside. PG getting whole the hype while doing not so much against us. If somehow we manage to get a big..its a wrap for indiana

please check your source before posting, if you want to discuss the potential of this type of deal then please explain that you are speaking hypothetically. I say this because the source of this rumor is totally bogus and on his same website (that shall remain nameless) he mentions a Zach Randolph for PPierce deal and an Evan Turner to Miami deal. all garbage.

No hate... none at all, I just have always, and will always, point out where accountability should lie when people post rumors without checking into it. To your credit you did add "RUMOR" but you didn't ask if the rumor was credible or if anybody else had heard it....you took it and ran with it.

A rumor? Really? Funny, because I posted about that EXACT same trade just a few days ago.

Justin Hamilton beasting again, 27 points 13 rebounds, 3-6 from 3. Shooting 44% from 3 for the season so far.

man watching the grizzlies game yesterday we really messed up with miller. guy looks healthier now and he can still play. hes not putting up huge numbers or anything but hes shooting the 3 well

we shouldve amnestied joel and brought on justin hamilton as the reserve big. with wade missing games every week miller wouldve really been a help and possibly we could have the best record right now

Meh about Miller. Don't feel like we're really missing him. He still can't defend my grandmother and still super passive on offense (11 points per36).

Justin Hamilton, im carefully optimistic about him. He's never going to be a starting caliber NBA Center but watching him play a few times and looking at the numbers, he looks like a solid backup Center in the Spencer Hawes/Nick Collison mold.

Can shoot to ball and even hits 3's, spaces the floor, good size, high BB IQ, not athletic but mobile.

Honestly watching Lewis and Battier bricking shots all day and getting overpowered by opposing bigs, it makes me wonder what he would like next to the big 3.
