The kid was literally shooting like sub 30 from deep, had zero handles whatsoever and showed no offensive ability at all. The only thing he looked reasonably decent at was defense.
Yea, Porter basically just looks like a guy out there and his defense looks meh, but I like his quick jumpshot and off the ball ability. He looks like a high IQ guy--just hasn't gotten the chance to show much.
With the injuries going on we'll hopefully see much more of him so he can get his legs under him.
Porter and Beal aren't remotely synonymous. Beal was bad when he first started out, but he wasn't invisible, like Porter has been. Within Beal's first four games he had a 22/4/2/2 game against Milwaukee. Beal was bad but at least had some sort of impact. Porter is providing nothing, no offense, no defense, no hustle, zero. What scary is if you look at Porters game log:
