I think a lot of people against the tank are confused. They think this team is where it's at because of how good they are when in reality it's because the rest of the east is so bad.

Honestly this team is not so bad. It wouldn't surprise me at all if amir had another season of winning basketball, and we don't do so bad if he's not on the court. If that's the case, treadmilling (or a bunch of trades, or an amir trade) is pretty much assured. You tankers need to join treadmill nation before its too late. Just embrace the painful truth of reality. Except its not that painful. It's easier cheering for the meaningless wins and inevitable first round playoff loss then cheering for losses.

If you anti-tank fans are cool with first round exits then have fun with your treadmill. This year was the perfect chance to get at least an allstar (if not a superstar) and it was dropped to be a playoff team in a season where no one is really trying to make the playoffs!

I'm not an anti tanker/ tanker , but if we don't face pacers/heat in first round I like our chances of winning a series if it comes down to it.

green font? lol. Truth is, for me it's actually much easier to cheer for losses then wins now. I can't even believe it's come to that, but it is. In fact, if this team makes the playoffs I will actually be so pissed off I won't even watch the series. No joke. And I may even just give up watching the team altogether if it happens. Or should I say, WHEN it happens. I think this is the year the team finally loses me.

Why the military transport metaphor?

Part of me doesn't want to follow the team until April.

At least by then the tank will be either long since extinct or humming right along... not knowing the direction of the team makes it seem pointless to follow... I could get behind either winning or tanking, I just want to understand our direction.

So, to achieve tank success (a top 5 or 6 pick in this draft is my criteria for a successful tank), what should our W-L record be to put ourselves in that position?

For the 2003 draft, we finished 24-58, which slotted us at the 3rd or 4th heading into the lottery (I can't remember exactly).

We have 56 games left to dust off the tank, we have 11 wins in 26 games currently. Is anything less than 29 or 30 wins realistic at this point, even with a Lowry or Amir trade?
