If he does get released, and it's between us and the Clippers, our saved MMLE could prove to be vital.

Pure_Basketball wrote:I hate Andrew Bynum, but he can still play at a somewhat decent level, and he has size. Like another poster said if we could split the center minutes between Bynum/Oden/Birdman we'd have that size that we haven't had in years which would be great against Indiana. Say goodbye to 25 point games from Hibbert against us while he sucks against any other team.

The problem is I believe once he gets bought out he goes on the waiver wire, which means any team can bid for him, so anyone can trump what we have to offer and I highly doubt we offer the mini mle unless Arison really wants that 3 peat.

not true. that's only if he were to be amnestied...

i think he didnt like cleveland

we never played for the love of bball he was just collecting a check. He's so lazy even when he played with the lakers he wasn't very serious. Heat don't want this guy unless he comes for dirt cheap.

yup he's so so lazy yet he repeatedly put his future on the line for the lakers in the playoffs
playing on damaged knees and getting knee drains to stay on the court
he gave you laker fans the best years of his career

Man, the excitement level this forum is showing for this damaged, douchey, 42% shooting, ready to retire, awful character Bynum - just goes to show how desperate we are for a real Center.

Slot Machine wrote:There's no reason to not want Bynum, he's a big body at the very least, can score in bursts and rebounds well. His man defense on Hibbert would be really useful. Team defense wise, we'd probably have to make him sink on P&Rs and adjust our scheme but he'd definitely be worth it for us to change up our scheme a bit.

That being said, I doubt we get him.

Just curious, when was the last time a BIG on this team played straight man defense?

Id prefer the level headed Okafor over Bynum....but I would give him a non guaranteed chance at proving hes not a POS.

If Pat feels confident that Oden will be ready, no way he's letting Bynum anywhere near this team.

If not, he might force himself to swallow this stinky gamble.

He's injured. He's also 6'10''.

He's also a better defender then Bynum, a better fit, a better guy, a harder worker, and healthier if he can rehab in time.

If Mr. Bowling here really does get waived... you bet your sweet ass Riles is going to take a flyer. Can't really say no when you have ****ing Joel Anthony on your roster.

Don't know

Therefore I leave this in Riley's hands.

If Riley wants Bynum he's getting Bynum

Im not even 100% against it, im just pissed that it came to this.

Bynum? really? after what he did to Philly and now what he's doing to the Cavs?

I would much much rather play Oden and Okafor and only consider him a last resort. Problem is - We still have no Idea what's up with Oden and Okafor.

If Bynum gets signed he gets similar treatment to Andersen last year - not playing until he's got a base-level fitness. If Riley thinks the risk is worth taking I'd rather see Anthony go instead of Mason.

As for changing our defensive scheme, we have already made that adjustment against the Pacers. It would just be introducing the change on a more regular basis.

Well, the 42% is from a small sample size, and from what I've heard he's looked better as the season's progressed.

And while he's always had some character issues, he was never a big detriment in LA. Obviously he physically wasn't ready last year, and this year he's on a bad team while struggling to adjust to loss of athleticism. Put him on a strong character team that's a contender and I think he'd be just fine. Also, he'd have less pressure to perform in Miami where he'd, at best, be the 4th wheel.

With all that said, it's a pipe dream. The league is too weak at the C position for other teams to hand him to Miami.
