I think they would readily offer Harkless and Nicholson.
I think they would offer a lot more if we traded him to them now, but I know that's not going to happen.

Yeah, his value is certainly at an all time high, but I'd be shocked beyond words if McD traded him now. Would found the McD Iron Balls Church, tho.

Re: 2014 Official Suns Free Agent/Trade/Transaction Thread
I like Bledsoe and I like the team this year. But I'm still keeping the big picture in view, which is winning the championships. The season is so enjoyable because the expectations were so low and because last year was so AWFUL. But none of that should change the goal of building a championship contender. And I don't think shelling out max money, even if it is just the "mini-max", is smart, responsible team building. It will come back to bite you, it always does.
Memphis overpaid Conley, Gasol, Gay, and Randolph, and look where they are now.
OKC overpaid Ibaka (although he's giving them better return this season) and Perkins, which has severely restricted their ability to add that final piece that gets them over the hump. Granted, they may have won it all last year if Westbrook didn't go down, and perhaps the brilliance of their top 2 players will allow them to win it all with just an average supporting cast.
I think the Pacers may get into trouble too. George Hill, David West, and Roy Hibbert are all underperforming their deals. Each player should be making $2-4 million less than what they are. So that's $6-12 million in wasted funds. You can get a really good player for that money. Lance Stephenson will be entering free agency; can they afford to keep him?
I'm not even going to get into the mess Denver's in (which they may be bailed out with the Knicks lotto pick).
So I am very willing to move Bledsoe. Doing so may cause us to take a step back, even miss the playoffs. And that would hurt, but not as much as being stuck with a team that can't make the leap and is without the resources to significantly improve. I'm not saying the Suns have to move Bledsoe, or that we're guaranteed to never contend with him making the max, I'm just not confident in taking that course.

I don't think he'll demand the max. I think we'll be surprised at what kind of deal he gets from us. He'll get paid, but I don't think it'll be Russell Westbrook money. I think McD will convince him the salary needs to build a contender and they'll figure out a reasonable deal. Probably incentive heavy too.
SHAZAM!
Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

I see your point INF, we've agreed before on this topic. I am not philosophically opposed to trading Bledose this season, but just don't see it happening the way the team is playing. A GM needs to operate in the real world, after all.
Now, if an asset like Antetokoumnpo was on the table, I'd be extremely tempted and considering the impending contract situation, would probably pull the trigger, but I think it's much more probable that McD and the rest of the FO thinks they have found a building block worthy of keeping even at the max. It's not like they are giving 10M per to McGee, for instance. That's the kind of contract that kills a franchise's flexibility, but Bledsoe would have to be severely affected by the contract year syndrome to enter that territory. If that's not the case, I think the Suns can live with Bledsoe at the max even if it means overpaying by those 2-4M, all things considered.
Personally, I don't think he'll become the kind of player his physical gifts suggest, but he doesn't need it to justify a first max contract, proved it's a regular one and not the franchise deal.

I could see some idiot team offering him a 4yr/$60m (approx. max deal). I would counter with a 5yr/$60m with a player option after year 4.

The Knicks would take Blake Griffin over Eric Bledsoe.

No need for Shumpert with Green and Goodwin.
Green is a useful "chucker" lol, he has Kobe confidence on those 3 ptrs.
Goodwin will eventually put it together and will be a combo guard who attacks the ring and plays defense... While he is developing... Green will be man the fort along with Tucker.
And Blake Griffin is untouchable for clippers.
They'll consider it for Lebron or Anthony Davis... And Durant.
I don't like him much but he is a shoe in 20/10 every night.

If Dolan didn't exist, they'd be more realistic than that proposal.
?????
Dolan would never trade a top tier player for a bunch of picks and expirings, even if it was the smartest thing to do. This guy is the anti-tank. And he's stupid. But no way in hell would PHX part with Bledsoe under those circumstances. He's not untouchable, I guess, but I could never see Bledsoe being traded for Melo or a Melo-like player. So if Dolan wasn't in the position he's in, a similar 3-way deal would be more realistic than parting with Bledsoe.

Damn! I didn't think Beasley and Marshall would find a job in the NBA before Brown
Let him go to China and never come back.

How do you fans feel about Jeff Green at your SF? Just curious and bored.

Not enthused about that at all, really. I don't think he fits with what we're going for.
He'd probably be a better PF on our team, anyway.

Why don't you think he fits?
I live on the East coast so I haven't watched much PHX basketball and seen the offense.

I agree that Hayward would be a nice fit but this thread would be much better is we discussed guys who might actually be available
I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that Phoenix or Utah would be willing to match max offers to their respective RFAs.
I just don't see either phx or Utah let those guys walk for nothing simply because they have to pay 14m a yr instead of the 10 or so the player is "worth". It's not like either team is up against the lux tax.

I could go for that. I guess the only realistic trade would be Frye and a pick or two, but maybe they would go for or rather have Okafor, though if we kept Frye it would really overload our frontcourt and our cap situation this summer.

If either phx or Utah isn't comfortable matching the mini-max then they should 100% trade Bledsoe and Hayward at the deadline. Neither team can afford to lose an asset for nothing.

Sixers should trade Young as soon as possible if they want top 7 pick. Thadd is playing out of his mind lately.
