Marcus + IND + for Thad sounds good.

I wouldnt mind that for the right package. Whats the contract situation like?

And how much is he an improvment over frye? Because frye brings a lot with his veteran experience and the chemistry he provides

Thad makes about 9 mil a year and can opt out after next season. One thing to keep in mind Is that even though he was viewed as a 3 when he came in the league he pretty much only plays the 4 now. If/when they shop Thad I would assume they will get some decent offers. Maybe something like the morri twins and pick(s) for Thad and turner type deal is possible. Although I have a feeling some other team would have a more appealing offer.

Bad Thad has played up his value. In fact, with MCW and their recent run, he may have retracted his 'trade me' lines.

Good to see we were working the phones. We just don't have much to offer.

I could go for that. I guess the only realistic trade would be Frye and a pick or two, but maybe they would go for or rather have Okafor, though if we kept Frye it would really overload our frontcourt and our cap situation this summer.

Channing Frye would do nothing for Philly. If a deal is brokered, it will involve a combo of the Morris Twins, pick(s), Gerald Green and/or Kravtsov.

Okafor + Twins + IND pick for Young + Turner + future 2nd rd pick. Turner plays well we offer him a contract, if not he's a good $6 mil. expiring. Young becomes the starter so Frye can bench mob it. Morris twins are playing the best of their career but I think are going to peak this year so we should move them while we can.

Depending on the cost I'd be interested in Young but not along with Ily, as we discussed INF.

I wonder what would Philly want. I don't think the Pacers' pick plus Okafor is enough, and I'm not sure I'd send them two picks.

Again, the twins could be an option, but the contract edge still bothers me. Young is playing great right now, but if his production decreases 9M per is a steep price above all if you believe the Morrii can be signed at a couple discount.

Frye and PJ shouldn't be used in this kind of move, in my opinion.

If they wanted to make Yound spend significant time at sf, maybe Green would be an option, but as you point INF the 76rs don't really have an use for role players like Frye, PJ or Green.

Maybe a three way trade with the Bobcats, who sorely need 3pt from the wings could be doable, and if they add one asset to the table like Portland's pick, getting Young could be cheaper for us.

Interesting rumor, for sure.

Interesting note from Jake, the Sixers tried to trade Turner so they could draft Goodwin.

Everyone wanting to throw Frye into every trade possible will realize how much he means to the Suns success once he is gone.

I was thinking they could either try to flip Frye again or hope he opts out of his contract. I just mentioned Frye more because his salary comes closest to matching and Thad would be our starting pf.

I wouldn't mind the deal you mention, because if we kept Frye at and got Thad, we wouldn't need the Morris twins, Frye could become a reserve to backup the 3-4. At this point I don't know if I'd throw in Green though.

I think Philly is hesitant to trade Thad though, because he is a talented young piece. I don't think they trade him unless they get a lotto pick, or talent and a first rounder or two.

I am really liking the Morris twins this year, but Thad would be a big upgrade athletically for our starting unit, and we'd really only need a sharp shooting 3 to be REALLY potent.

I have long been interested in Thaddeus Young . . . when there was talk that he might be on the trading block, I was borderline giddy. Very interesting to see that we are pursuing him.

I don't want to tear apart what we have going this season for him -- I'm hoping the key pieces are some combo of Okafor/Len/picks

I really don't like the idea of trading any substantial assets for Thad. I don't think he's that much better than Frye and Markieff. His stats are inflated by Sixers' ridiculous pace an his high usage%. As a 3rd-4th option on a winning team his numbers wouldn't be anywhere close to his current stats.

This is probably the most realistic deal but I think it might take more than just the indi pick to be the best deal on the table for Philly. With all the picks Phoenix has they probably can offer the best deal to Philly but at some point the cost for us is too much. I do think adding turner and Thad to the rotation replacing the morri twins would be an upgrade this season.

Some of it depends on what star type player will be available to the suns over the next 12 months. I'm sure the front office has some idea who could become available. If they honestly don't think they can add a love or bosh type player then you definitely could do worse than adding Thad and turner.

Well...different though. I must insist: Frye is best as a FIVE. What we don't have on this team is a quick FOUR. Thad is an intriguing combo of body control and athleticism, while still having the stretchy factor.

I've long advocated for a Lou/Amare-hybrid to play the four next to Frye. Thad was always high on the list of potential players that could fill that role.

But now that he's shooting threes so well, he's perhaps more of a Lou/Amare/Marion-hybrid. He'd work well as the four next to Frye, but we could also pair him with Plumlee without killing our spacing.

Someone on the sixers board mentioned turner Thad for okafor Goodwin and a pick or two.

I like Goodwin but would definitely consider that deal.

If they did this fry would become the backup 5 and you could fit turner in the rotation by cutting a little minutes from all our backcourt and 3s.

Would definitely be a deeper and better team.
