They go all out with Pau and Varejao up front - Earl Clark backing up the 4.

I was about to post on the trade board and say 'doubt CLE trades both PFs' haha - great minds...

At his age, playing Gasol at PF is defensive suicide.

Gasol is predominantly a center now if you want to have some sort of respectable defence

Also works keeping one of Bennett/Thompson and sending Earl to Philly...makes more sense too.

I threw it on the trade board for a laugh, we'll see :D

Thats a monster deal Tastic... Surprised if something that big happens. I do think McDo is looking to piggyback on the needs of others.

I like the MoBros going to Philly, and follow it with an Okafor move that makes sense for the yr and next. Can you imagine if we replace Mo1 and Mo2 with Young and ... dare I say, Deng or Granger ? Still doesn't exactly help our slightly built front line, but then again, if Len can start giving us some good minutes, we at least become pretty long and athletic in the post.

And remember.... Speed Kills

haha I don't know why it's THAT bad for them - even the adjusted one where they keep Bennett isn't too bad is it?

Is it that bad if they turn Bynum, Thompson and Gee into Pau, Turner and Wroten?

Solves 2/5 of their starting line-up and they get a nice asset in Wroten...Turner would be AWESOME at SF for them next to Irving

Al they are going to see is that they are giving up the best value in the deal and that have lost their two high picks for a Pau and Turner rental. While providing mad savings to the Lakers.

Pau's no slouch though, he's got a good 2-3 years left in him and Thompson isn't going to reach the level Pau's playing now, offensively at least.

Turner was a #2 pick and perfect as a pass-first rebounder who can create shots while Irving plays some off-ball.

Wroten is also no slouch, he gets to the line and has put up some massive games this year - but he's not ideal to play next to MCW.

What does CLE want - they get Gasol, keep Bennett - I should say I forgot to add in that they also send out Earl Clark - and their roster looks like this:

Varejao
Gasol
Turner
Waiters
Irving
---
Jack
Wroten
Miles
Bennett
Karasev
Zeller
Dellavedova

That's an eastern playoff team this season, definitely.

And another 1st rounder in each of the next two drafts - that's better than this stupid Pau for Bynum deal...

Is the Thad Young talk actually a rumor or was a fan trade idea?

if Archie is included, then this rumor makes a little more sense with the recent signing of LB

Barbosa is being considered for a 10 day contract whilst Bledsoe is recovering. Veteran help temporarily.

And 76ers have Wroten as a young PG/SG off the bench.

NY in: Dragic

Phoenix in:Deng/Felton/MWP

Chicago: Shump/Okafor/1st rounder from Phoenix

so this is assuming you guys want Deng at probably 4yrs/15million and are going to max out Bledsoe
You'll be able to waive MWP and Felton is no longer a good starter, but is an excellent vet backup pt guard and off guard.
Chicago would do this and so would the Knicks, but would you.

Nope.

That would make us a treadmill team.

I'd much rather have Dragic/Bledsoe doing their collective thing for the next two years, drafting and developing guys.

You know Deng is expiring and we can sign him as a free agent next summer if we want? Why would we need to deal Dragic who is playing on all star level and first rounder for that?

Adding Felton`s 4.5 mil pre year for two more seasons is just insult to injury.

Felton led us to 54 wins last year. If you guys are serious about winning you need a good backup, and 4.5mil is not insulting for a vet like Felton, he's not a starter anymore, but he can still be one of the better backups.

You guys can't really expect the bulls to let Deng walk? It may happen, but is highly unlikely. How do you guys expect to get a quality starter to win now if you don't trade someone?
You may not like this trade but your FO seems to want to win now and upgrade talent, so you have to give something to get something.
I agree you should keep both---but nobody would be talking trade if it weren't for your FO talking about upgrading by getting a star.
