Over the last 2 weeks he has been averaging 12 ppg/7rpg/1 bpg on 53 % shooting all in under 25 minutes per game.

His numbers keep improving, along with his conditioning. I think coming off the bench for him is really helping.

I wouldn't trade the STAT I saw tonight for Gasol..... Gasol has two rings not because he is self-motivated, but because he had Phil Jackson's Johnston Murphy shoe on one buttock, and Kobe's Nike on the other for two straight seasons..... STAT in the mindset and health we saw tonight, is what we need to win a title..... the final piece..

Chandler, Bargs, Amare, Martin, MWP I can't see how thats gonna work

its working now rookie...... we don't need to move anyone... we just need to get better with what we have, and get the team ready mentally while getting healthy..... that's it. Our roster can compete with anyone in the NBA, and depending on who we face will determine what our big rotation needs to be.... We have turned the corner and are ready to make a run for a ring..

Well, in that case, let's shut down this board and get together for a champagne party at the end of the season.

I can't see how trading Amare helps us. We still won't have capspace next season even if we trade him for an expiring contract.

The only trade I can see Amare in is a trade for Rondo and that will probably only be possible next season when he's expiring.

I think Amare's "ceiling" as a contributor from this point forwards is better than anything we could get in a trade for him. He's gonna light it up in a contract year next year, keep him. Unless it's Amare + Shump + Timmy + 1st for Rondo + Humphries

Yes it's working now rook, with 2 out of those 3 on the bench, Tell me which one is gonna be ok riding the pine when healthy, we already heard complaints from Amare and Martin earlier in the year about minutes.

Amare is no longer relying on athleticism, and he seems to be conscious of that and reinvented his game. In fact, if his body doesn't break down this season, his new style of play may help him sustain his career a bit longer. The 'procedures' on his knees we saw in the past 2 years were body's structural responses to these changes. The worst for him would be a reunification yet with MDA again who'd run him to the ground right away.
Given the history however, nobody is gonna give the Knicks anything valuable for Amare. So, the only hope is that Amare stays healthy, and the offense continues to involve him.

He has become one of the better back to the basket post players in the game.
Very interesting transformation.

So, I get home and come here to see what the story is and nothing on this Celtics/Amare thing from " Multiple Sources" Brousard (although it was interesting to see the Thibs thread from the Daily News)

Anyway, WTF was it that Broussard had on ESPN insider about the Celtics and an Amare trade?

Anyone have ESPN insider?

No thanks if all the Knicks are getting are some stupid combination of Humphries, Wallace and Bass back.

he could sprout wings, leap from center court for an epic 360 roawwwr dunk and hed still be untradeable.

2 many surgeries, 2 massive a contract and far 2 long with extremely poor play.

were stuck with amare, and if he plays like he has these last 2 games im fine with that.

Let's hold off on trading STAT for....the duration of his deal.

If he stays healthy, he'll have a full season AND another entire summer of rehab under his belt for 2014-2015. Since his slow start he's been putting up over 12 PPG. With a full off season to get his knees back, maybe another PRP if it's beneficial and low-risk, he could give us 15-6 next year.

And he learned it in a late stage (10th season) of his career, with not much previous experience (used to be face-up player). Very unusual. In comparison, Dwight Howard has been the featured low-post center all his career, but his moves are still mechanical, robotic, far inferior to Amare's.

Getting some combination (god forbid all 3) of the guys the Celtics are looking to shed is even worse, especially Gerald Wallace's useless carcass that has 3 years and way, way, way too much money attached to it.

I think when Tyson comes back, all the big men minutes will be reduced. As it should be. Keeps us healthy.

I'm glad JR came to his sense. We deep at 2 guard. Thus reducing minutes around.

Health is key.

Dude, its the NBA. Any team can be another team on any given night. How about in a seven game series? This team doesn't have enough to beat Miami or Indiana in a seven game series, with the finals on the line. Sure, clicking on all cylinders we could pull it off, but Amar'e would need to average 15/7, Kenyon and Tyson playing hard nose D, same with Shump, J.R. playing sixth man of the year ball, THJ hitting his open threes. So yeah, EVERYTHING would need to go right, including a penetrating and thin Ray Felton.

I really wish we could get Marc Gasol we could start STAT/Melo/Gasol/Shumpert/Felton

so dynamic, how it was meant to be with STAT and Melo feasting, Gasol makes them both better

Return to New York Knicks
