Wall is playing like he doesn't even care. No focus or intensity.
Im going to blame this on Wittman. I guarantee you this wouldnt have been the Wall we seen if Witt didnt have that talk. The headline was on every major sports site. "Wizards/Witt have sit down with Wall about doing too much."
Doing too much? How? One of the most pass 1st guys in the league who was the 1st person after the game to said he did too much. This is the Wall that started the season. The only difference from us being 2-7 to start and 7-2 over the next 9 was Wall saying to forget Witt and he needs to be more aggressive.
So when Wall played well yesterday even though he was passive, everyone said Witt did great with him. Now today Witt has no culpability in it even though Wall is clearly playing more passive than he's been at any point since the first 9 games? Its just a coincendence that this happend now after there talk right? Its not.
Again, this trip is the perfect type of trip for Wall. All running teams that if aggressive he couldve lead us to wins and average 24 & 9 atleast. Instead Witt kills that before we leave and this is what we get. Wait to see what Curry does to him. Its going to look just like what Kyrie did to him early in the season before Wall came out and said he's going to be more aggressive.
Hopefully he says that after the game and stops listening to people trying to put the brakes on him. Our own coach putting the breaks on his star, Franchise player. Wall playing these type of games right before they announce the All Star team. Pathetic. Numbers look way worse than they couldve looked. Remember how I got upset every game how he didnt even try to look like a Superstar, #1 pick, Max guy?
I dont care if you fail but I wanted him to try. He wasnt trying and Witt has put him back into that mode. Where every game he is like a 12-15ppg type player but everyone likes it because he's getting 10ast. They say they didnt want him shooting more because his FG% sucked. I said it sucked because he's not aggressive enough or shooting enough. Its the same again. He needs to start attacking
Wittman isn't telling Wall to take a bunch of dumb, out of rhythm jumpers. He's not telling Beal to miss wide open shots. He's not telling Gortat to play like he has a vagina
Do I want Wittman gone? Yes, oh God yes. Is Wittman the reason why this team hasn't gotten over .500 one time out of 4-5 tries? No.
The PLAYERS clearly have a mental block, they are mentally weak and too accustomed to failure.
Wittman getting fired is likely not going to happen until the end of the season. The players changing their mentality and giving consistent effort is something that can happen right now, and it isn't. That's what's so frustrating to me. If it's clear that Wittman has lost the team, then he needs to be fired right now. But I don't know if management is going to be convinced of that.
