I'm actually pleased by this. I hope they send down Otto too to get some valuable playing time.

Impressed by his defense when he played.

Is he their first send down since Ramos - which seems like a decade ago?

I think they sent Hamady Ndiaye a couple of years ago but it does seem like it is underutilized.

+1 I was shocked to see this, better late than never. For the love of God send Porter down there also.

Our rotation is set and it is tight, these^ guys can always be recalled.

At the end of the day, the d league will be used more effectively once teams use it more effectively. If 2/3's to 3/4's of draftee's were sent there like they should be, instead of sent to pick up splinters on the bench, they might have a higher success rate, the d league might be more effective, and the stigma would vanish. Instead we end up carrying Singleton, Vesely, and Otto despite none of them having any business being up here the last several years.

I hope they send Otto down to, whatever the system is, the coach will be fired soon enough so learning it isn't essential, getting minutes and confidence back is.

The shooting was erratic which is in line with what I've seen since we drafted him. It looks like he just needs to slow down a bit. But the all around game in interesting. In his limited pt you could see he had ability to be do more than just spot up. I really think he could add value here as a ball handler/scorer for the second unit but he has to be developed and given an opportunity by this staff, which could be a problem.

I hope that this play time in the d-league helps Glen settle down offensively. Defensively I think he looks great. I didn't watch the game tonight but in the past games where he got a chance to start, he shined on the defensive side of the ball. Hoping for big things out of this kid.

Rice had 28 & 13 yesterday. Didn't shoot great from three but **** above 50% overall. Added three blocks too...he's an all around player that we're blocking because we have 3 SFs and play Martell out of position at the 2.

I'm telling you that Rice is a much better prospect than Porter is. I love his potential.

Rice dropped 29 today.

I said that on draft night...and unfortunately I think I was correct.

I'm not nearly as down on Otto as you are but I think Len/Noel was the way to go.

Bigger upsides and fits a long-term need.

I'll give EG credit for picking Rice.

Imagine Noel/Rice draft. :o

Anyone else not understand the Porter/Rice draft? Has Ernie ever had a balanced roster?

At this point Mason Plumlee, Steven Adam, Michael Carter-Williams, Kelly Olynyk or Trey Burke over Porter.

That isn't to say that Porter won't improve but... given our weakness at backup PG and in the FC...

And a really clever GM might have been able to get a 2 for 1.

I know - hindsight.

I don't think its a bad thing. I liked what I saw out of Otto at Phoenix. He got in passing lanes, crashed the gall, blocked a shot, and found himself open for a few Js. Once those start to fall and he gets more minutes, I still think he'll develop into that 15/7 guy I thought he'd be. If Glen Rice develops into something more, that's a great thing!
