Re: Trade Ideas - Part 2
Lol we will not trade Kyrie unless we absolutely have to.
It's to the point where it's probably best for both us and Dion that he gets traded. He just doesn't fit on this team, his attitude is a huge part of the problem. He yaps at refs, misses a ton of layups trying to draw fouls, and his BBIQ is very low.
I feel Waiters can be a very good player, just not here. The problem with drafting Dion in the first place was that he possessed zero off-the ball skills. We needed an off-guard that could handle the ball and create his own shot, not so much a ball-dominant player.
I say he needs to be traded for whatever we can get for him, Chris Grant needs to stop trying to fleece people and actually improve this team.

Trading Waiters "for whatever we can get for him," is a great way to ensure that the Cavs don't win another game for the rest of the year. Frankly, I'm not convinced that Dion is the problem.

Laker fan. Wanted to bring this proposal here first to see if it would fit with team dynamics.
Using PHI cap space as facilitator:
LAL sends Pau+Meeks to CLE and cash to PHI
CLE sends Andy to PHI and Clark+Gee+Dion to LAL
PHI sends Houston's 2nd to LAL
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ptb3sue
Pretty sure Andy is well-liked, but need his salary for a Pau trade now that Bynum is gone. These players were previously rumored to be part of the trade so could be rekindled. Pau and Meeks bring scoring punch and a familiarity with Brown. LAL nets a possible Kobe protege and gets under the tax line. CLE 5 could be Kyrie/Meeks/Deng/Thompson/Pau with Jack/Zeller/Bennett/Miles off the bench. PHI gets up past the cap floor and has the option of keeping Andy or letting him go for 4M.

So you hate Pau that much, too the point you are willing to send him here? That's messed up lol

Yeah I don't think Waiters is the problem here. But I also don't think he fits here anymore. Look I love Dion, but we all know Mike Brown does not like him at all. Waiters got pulled for missing one defensive assignment, while Jack got to play 30 minutes. These guys will not develop under Brown.

Waiters definitely seems like one of the problems both on and off the court. He makes a mind-boggling number of dumb plays and can't even make the simplest fixes to some of them. RealGM's article that was posted tonight said that anonymous players are pointing at Dion and Kyrie. I partially agree with the people who believe that Kyrie lacks assertiveness and leadership qualities, but Dion comes off like a cocky bad apple.

Waiters doesn't make anymore mistakes than anyone else on the team but he's one of the only ones that's punished for them.

I disagree. Zach Lowe, a writer I think everyone who cares about basketball respects right now, has consistently pointed out and complained about Waiter's insanely bad transition defense (and did so just two days ago against the Knicks), which is completely indefensible. He takes more contested twos early in the shot clock than all but a few guys in the league. He consistently displays zero effort. If you pay attention, he has more inexcusable (even though they're not blatant) defensive screw-ups than anyone on this team. That recent Luol Deng report mentioned that he's been kicked out of practice multiple times. It's a story that isn't entirely supported, but I do believe what was said about Dion. The RealGM story tonight claimed he and Kyrie were pointed out as part of this collapse. I believe he's a bad teammate and a selfish player, more so than anyone on the team.

The other half believes only ESPN and its quest to **** on Cleveland.

Honestly I don't see what you're seeing. I see that bad transition defense after he takes a shot ( usually when he doesn't get a call he thinks he deserves) but his defense and effort is no worse than anyone else's. In fact I think it's better than a lot if the guys overall.
His body language is terrible but I really do see him putting in effort a lot of the time.

I would do kyrie for a top five pick in 04 or kyrie for Rondo and Nets pick in a heartbeat, unprotected plus Rondo is idiotic. Like him or not, when healthy,Rondo is a top five pg. I'm not one of those people who think stars are only players who put up a lot of points.

I like Dion like everyone else - but he is gone. He has been the scapegoat for this team for quite sometime and even though I think Grant should be fired, and Mike Brown given an ultimatum of getting an OC or GTFO, Dion is the one who will be gone by the deadline. Time to start thinking about who we might receive in a package involving him.

Actually, based on his last two articles, it seems like more of the team is upset with Kyrie than Dion.

This would be to be serious mistake. Kyrie isn't going to be any happy when we trade Dion and don't get any better. If he refuses to sign an extension this summer, after you have already traded Dion, you just lost 40-45 ppg. There are a ton of good pgs in this league. There are a hand full of good sgs.

Miles would be a big part of it because we need a starting SF that can play some D and hit the 3.
