We win tonight 93-88 -- and if you doubt my powers, well keep in mind that I predicted the GS win.*

* To be honest, it's not *my* powers. I have a really good set of dice I just rolled, and they say a win. My dice could coach the Wizards better than Randy Wittman, btw -- maybe even as good as Hands!! Not joking here, these are really good dice.

If I were Wit, I would play Booker limited minutes. Tony Parker kills us on the high pick so Vesley's ability to hedge may be very important in this one.

I was thinking just the opposite, that they would have Seraphin and Vesely turned inside out. It will be interesting to see Randy's rotations.

I agree. If there's one thing Vesley does well, it's hedging and recovering on pick and roll defense. Booker isn't good at all doing that.

I also doubt Ariza goes off for 3s tonight. Danny Green or whoever is guarding him well force him to drive or shoot long 2s.

I actually could see Danny Green being put on Wall since Green does a very good job of guarding the other lethal PGs out in the West.

It's possible but it always seems like SA kills us from the perimeter and off the PnR. They rarely isolate in the post. Booker is one of the teams worst PnR defenders so having Ves disrupt that could be advantageous. :dontknow:

We're due a buzzer beater win. Tonight is the night. 98-96 Wizards, Beal with the winner as the clock hits 0:00.
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

With Leonard and Ginobili out, the Wiz should have size advantages at the wings and need to take advantage of them. A3za and Beal combine for 55 points as the Wiz take this by 19. Bet your mortgage and first born on it.

That's what I'm thinking. Gotta be nimble in this one. Ves should definitely get some minutes. Energy, length and good team D from Ves really help them mix it up defensively against a well balance SA attack.

What I don't expect will happen which should happen is some actual focus on running PnR with Ves and catching him flashing to the basket so he can also attack the rim. They did this in one of Jan games with several Wizards assisting Ves and it worked great. Beal and Nene were both looking for him and he delivered. Not sure what game it was and I haven't seen them do it again since.

But if they are going to ignore Ves while he is out there, its not going to be as effective if all he is doing is defending and they are playing 4 on 5 on offense. If that the case, they have to use the shorter Kevin and Booker because both are better are generating their own offense. Beal needs to keep passing more like he has been recently to maximize what Ves can do out there.

If they are playing 4 on 5, SAS will just jump all the perimeter shooters and take WAS out of them offense. Then they will be forced to dribble to get open and they aren't good at that so there will be lots of turnovers. Then Wall will be all that is left.

Wall was 5-19 with 3 assists last game. TA was 1-4 with 1 assist and Nene 2-6 with 0 assist.
That's how that happens.

If they are going to win, they need Ves defending and attacking the rim and they will need Kevin be able to do the same and handle the double team by passing.

They are going to need to step up big time as a team and trust more then the standard Wall, Beal, TA, Nene, Gortat to get it done.

Interesting and Randy's rotation ? Yeah. I guess you can call them interesting. That's one way to describe them.

Vesley ain't getting no minutes. Not after that joke of a game he had last game.

While I'd love a win, I really just want to see us with a close to even chance to win with 3 minutes left. Lets see if the Wizards can perform under that kind of pressure again.

Don't forget that Wall will also score 50. Wizards score 140 in a solid win.
