Its a tough call but it could work out by staying the general path they are on. Hell, it has so far. They are a lot better now then 2 years ago.
You would have to know what both those players are thinking. How much do they like it here ?
What is the internal plan for them and path for minutes moving forward ?
They can overpay them to stay if needed and just plan on trading them for expiring later if the deals need to be for to long. Just make sure the out years are to high. That gets TA for at least one more year while you see what Otto has. You can also try to more Webster is needed next year. And you can try to bring back Okafor cheap as well on a one year.
They can make a play to make this work by doing that while Wall and Beal return next year even better. Next year is Beals 3rd year so he should be ready to settle in as a more complete mature player. And they figure out what Otto can do after a summer of work which he didn't get this year.
For me, I would focus on getting ride of Maynor so you have an extra spot open for vet min players. Singleton is gone either way anyway to throw him into a trade if need. Not sold on Glen so use him if need. Even Tom if you think that would help and he isn't in the near term plans.
Lots gets talked about but I'm still where I have been for a while. Bring them back but tweak and get a top coach. I see that as a viable path to progress while they wait on KD to come in 2016. Beal first time AS next year. Wall returns. I see no reason TA wouldn't do the same he did this year. He fits what they have. More post presence defense by getting Okafor as a back up. He liked it here and like TA. 2nd year to the playoff with experience from this year.
Wall, Temple or better
Beal, Webster
Trevor A, Otto
Nene, Kevin, Booker
Gortat, Okafor, Ves
Maybe Thomas is ready and comes over. If so, that 13 or trade him.
See how Temple finishes the year. Never sucks to have a defensive PG like him. Or find an upgrade.
I would move Maynor, Singleton and Glen.
If Otto works out, they would want to move Webster for a better ball handling shot creating back up SG
Another summer for Ves to work on molding his body to be more of a PF/C. I would sell him on the idea that sticking around here is best to grow. Learn from Gortat and Okafor.
I wouldn't be upset if they do that. Then if Otto works out, you trade TA in 2015 deadline for expiring to open cap for KD. There is enough here to keep while tweaking things at back up PG, SG and center to get better.
