Maynor, Vesely out
Miller in + free roster spot
The only thing i don't like it's just trying to hide horrible move of dropping Marshall from the squad.
Overall i like it.
Vesely #24 Miller was #24 in Denver so it's like a jersay swap

Damn. This is a valuable asset.
The WIzards need a little luck.
New Orelans traded their '14 first to Philly in the Jrue Holiday deal. It is top-5 protected. If NOP has no first, it won't be easy for them to get better (they'll have some cap room, but not a ton). If they don't improve, this pick could indeed be valuable.
So lets hope New Orleans jumps up into the top 3 and gets a lot better next year.

We don't have to smell Maynor anymore.
Those of use that know Ves used properly can contribute won't bitch every game he isn't.
It narrows down who Randy isn't using to Kevin
It dots the eye on a serious of back EG moves so Ted can see how they turned out so he won't resign him.
And it opens a roster spot.

With that being said once again Ernie, made a mistake selecting a European big in the draft. How good would a Wall and Curry backcout be. No disrespect to Beal. I will admit when I first heard we traded for Miller I was afraid it was for Ariza, which would have made me mad. He has been one of our better players all year. But now I am hearing rumblings about an Ariza for Deng swap. I am not sure, but I think I would prefer Ariza. I need to think on it more though. Hopefully this will have a positive affect on the 2nd unit and Wall down the stretch of games where he has run out of gas in the past.

Okay!
And...................................................now!
we can also activate GRJr since we lost 2 players off the roster and only got back one.

I think the logic goes.
You were paying Maynor 2M to not play for you and you didn't want to have him smelling up the bench to do it. That money was already sunk cost.
So for the low low price of 2.6M over what you already sunk, you get an actually NBA player.
If not, 2M gets you an option roster spot.
It makes sense once you consider they already F'd themselves. Its better then were they were.

Damn. This is a valuable asset.
Crap.
It's a good trade in the sense that Andre Miller is obviously better than Eric Maynor, and we have an open roster spot now -- in case we want to add a 10-day guy from the D League.
It's a horrible trade, in the sense that it's horrible to have to make the trade -- the guy Ernie expressly targeted and signed on day 1 of free agency was a total piece of crap.
And it's a horrible trade, because we have a guy we picked 6th in the draft who is so bad that all we get for him (and another guy and a high R2 pick) is a 40-year old backup point guard.
More of Ernie cooking up a bowl of soup, pissing in it, and then asking Wizards fans to drink it up! Tastes good, huh?
How this doesn't cost him his job I don't know. He should be fired the day after the trade deadline.
I agree with you on most of your points. The only thing a disagree with you (and a lot of others on this board) is the NOP 2nd round pick. Please explain how it is "high". There looking at the #41 (11th in 2nd) overall this year. They have the best young big man and basketball and a very good and well rounded pg. I dont see how they dont improve quite a bit next year with AD and Jrue getting better, Anderson coming back from injury, and trading Gordon/Evans for another piece.
I think theyll finish just outside the lottery (around pick 45) and we'll finish about the same in the east as this year, but I assume we'll have a slightly better record though. So thats pick 50...
So really were talking about 5 spots in the middle-to-end of the 2nd round in 2015. I really dont see the difference

You can't teach experience.
