Its almost like Wall and Beal went on full on coast mode now that a "real" backup guard is in town. They still need to show up. Fairly inexcusable.

Just caught your comment...same damn thing I was thinking and expressed.

I don't think I was too off when I stated at one point that Beal has slightly selfish ways about him...

I don't know if it's that he's selfish.. I think he's been given WAY too long a leash for being a 20-year old kid who was playing AAU ball just 3 years ago.

He needs a hardnosed coach who will straighten him out. His role on this team is too big. He's not a star, he's a roleplayer.

I think it's a mild selfishness, not the real destructive type, but the type that annoys.

He has no business turning Miller into a spectator while he's on the court. Takes some gall to do that.

He sometimes becomes dead-set on doing something and presses on no matter what...

This team sucks. They are lucky enough to play in the pathetic East, have a real easy schedule the rest of the season, and have an opportunity to grab the 3rd seed and they just look like they don't give a crap. Why should I give a crap about this team. I am quickly losing interest in this under achieving team.

I almost feel the same way but when you've been a fan for decades, you don't give up because this team coasts in most of their home games against sub-par competition. Not when you've seen the dreck of the last five years. Some of it's on Wittman, Wall and the so-called leaders like Nene, though he was up for this game.

Who is the leader on this team? Who holds people like Wall and Beal accountable for this crap?

It was Nene and when he ripped into this team early in the season, he had to apologize to the team. Why? Was Wall or Beal upset?

It seems like its mainly rooted in immaturity than any sort of deep-seated character flaw. He's used to being the 5-star stud everywhere he goes, now he has to adjust to playing a specific role and making guys around him better. It's a tough transition for a 20yo.

All the hype he's getting from the national media probably isn't helping either. Beal keeps hearing people say that he'll be an All-Star, so he thinks "Welp, I can't be an All-Star if I don't try to take over the team whenever I'm on the floor"

Now if we had a better coach, someone with some pedigree (ie George Karl, Lionel Hollins), none of this would be happening. Instead we have a lame duck coaching for his job, which is the worst possible situation for player development.

So much for Nene leading by example. Pathetic effort.

Sometimes it seems like Beal doesn't care defensively

How would you know that? Wall was out most of the year last season when Oak was here.

Beal has been horrible on D. Barely running out at 3pt shooters and stopping a couple of feet away so they have room to drain the 3 in his face. Then he just had the guard in transistion and left him out the blue to where a guy got an easy shot
