Jack Armstrong is fantastic. One of the best in the business no doubt. But the guy who impressed me the most was the color guy for the Clippers, Mike Smith. I've never heard anyone else as well prepared and insightful as he was. And he was respectful. He was dropping nuggets of insight about our 11th and 12th men. Factoids about Garrett Temple's career history.

I actually will go out and find a stream of the Clippers broadcast when we play them.

Buckhantz is my favorite play by play guy though. There is nothing better than a Buckhantz dagger.

This thread is for the discussion of the upcoming Wizards Raptors game. I will delete all unrelated posts. If you want to participate in the US vs Canada flame war, do so on the flame war thread.

As a Raptor's fan the player that I worry about is someone like Gooden. That guy, no matter who he plays for - always seems to bring out his inner Michael Jordan when he plays against the Raptors.

It's really up to you guys to show otherwise tomorrow. You guys are good on the road, right? come beat us at the ACC.

actually I think the exact opposite. As of right now you are definitely in the group with us and the Bulls. 3 games ahead of us with our game later today and only one game over the Bulls so you havent separated yourselves at all. Its actually up for you to change that and pull away. If you lose to us then you are basically tied with the Bulls and only 2 games up on us while having lost to both of us at home in a week's span.

We will be their and make it our house. Wall will separate himself from Lowry while owning Ross in the process and Beal will make Derozan his itch...........lol

That last part was a joke (kinda....wink wink) but in seriousness this does have the makings of being a pretty good rivalry for years to come if we were to meet in the 1st round

We're 26-13 since the rudy gay trade. if you think being 3 games back from us in the standing indicates that you guys are in the same talent level as us then you don't follow the league properly. I'm not saying your team won't beat us, just a little odd how a 4 game win streak all of a sudden makes you guys our equals.

the last I checked, the season isnt 39 games and let Bill Parcells says, you are what your record says you are and right now if you lose tonight then you are tied with the Bulls and only 2 up on us with 24 games to go

I wonder if this activity is going to carry over for tonight. Maybe we can bring back the chat, and we can flame away with more hilarious Rob Ford gifs?

FWIW, I really liked those Vince raps squads. Keon Clark, anyone?

With that being said, they are not unbeatable. This game reminds me of the one I watched last week when Chicago went in there and beat them. We can do that too (if Witt doesnt screw it up)

Chicago beat us because they were playing a very physical game from the start, and even then it came down to the wire where Derozan had a shot to win in the last 10 seconds, except he got blocked by Butler.

You guys are no Chicago. And the only way you're gonna win this game is if your offense is on point, especially in the first half.

Chicago is fairly easy for us to handle IMO. We struggle with athletic bigs which you guys have. Chicago has bruisers, and one high energy skilled guy in Noah. I'd love to face CHI in the playoffs tbh, but the raptors.....eh unless our bigs actually playing with the same energy your guys do... :/

I also expect CHI to break down very soon. They aren't deep, their best players aren't "young" and I'm still baffled ya'll lost to them.

You guys have a great player in lowry and very good players across the board, I don't see how ya'll don't roll roughshot over the east.

Lastly, why no massive gains by Val? I was checkin out his advance stats and while good for someone his age, I was expecting so see slightly more production, or does barely any offense get called for him?

PS **** Canada :P

Chicago will not break down, they have a superstar in Thibs. I agree you guys match up a little better but the reason we don't play well against them is because we play D first, they play D first, except they have been doing it for years where as we have just started playing with that identity.

Val doesn't get too many plays called for him most of us in Raptorland are happy with his progress seeing as how is only 21.

Also we were playing like **** while we had Rudy, that trade did wonders for our record in ways I can't even describe sometimes.

Also also, it's so weird hearing a fan from another team saying how "well coached" our squad is. I mean, I think Casey has done a good job it's just funny hearing it from someone else....

As a Raps fan, I don't think we are on a different tier than Washington. Overall, I'd like to think we are trending ahead, but the future is not written.

There are the obvious leaders in Indiana and Miami, but after that, everyone from Toronto to New Jersey in the standings are playing pretty well. There are still enough games to play that the order can move around quite a bit.

It's sort of funny, seems Toronto wants Washington in the first round, Washington wants the Bull, and I assume Chicago wants Toronto. Will be fun to see how it works out.

And talking music, we gave you Rush. That's gotta be worth something!

While we all talk about the standings let's not forget that while we had Gay on the roster it was a totally different team. Obviously those W/L's count towards our overall record but we are a better team then our record shows and are a class (or two) below MIA/IND but a class above everyone else in the east, except MAYBE Chicago.

Except maybe Chicago? A team who has our number, is a only game behind us in the standings, and who have also been much better since a trade? It's like we are sharing a rung on a ladder.

Sorry, Wizards, fan I know this isn't a place for Raps fans to argue.

anybody know what the FioS CSN+ situation is?

Normally that means it is on channel one. When I checked my DVR
scheduled programming this morning, it's telling me I no longer get Ch 1.
WTF?

Verizon really and truly does suck if this is going to be the case
moving forward.

edit to add - first thanks Pine for the PM.
In VA (Reston) I'm told CSN+ is on ch 78...that's the non-HD channel.

So far this season, the Wizards are 2-0 against the Bulls, and they are only 2 games ahead of us in the standings. I agree with the notion that there is not enough of a difference between the teams mentioned to start talking about separate rungs.

Don't forget our blockbuster Vesely/Maynor for Miller trade. EG's been embroidering around the edges of a masterpiece for years.

Lol like I said our record would be better if we had been playing like this the entire season and I did say it could be argued CHI is with us but it could be argued they are not, and youre right this is not the place for this.

I'd love for the Raps and Wiz, two young-ish teams with terrible names, to develop a healthy long-term rivalry. To good health- see you in the playoffs?

CSN+ has never been on channel 1 for me. It's always been 57-something

I have FIOS, but I can't for the life of me remember which channel it is. (But it's scheduled).

Standby. After this meeting I'm running to, I'll either post or PM to you.

EDITED TO ADD: Channel 575 for me in the HD tier.
