The Washington Wizards' John Wall and the Houston Rockets' James Harden on Monday were named NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, Feb. 24, through Sunday, March 2.

Wall led the Wizards to a 3-0 week, behind averages of 25.0 points (seventh in the conference), 10.7 assists (tied for first in the league) and 2.0 steals. Wall shot .592 (29-of-49) from the field and .813 (13-of-16) from the foul line. He tallied 17 points and handed out 16 assists on March 1, during a 122-103 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.

John Wall, Washington Wizards
Feb. 25 vs. Orlando: Posted 27 points, seven assists and five rebounds during a 115-106 win over the Magic.
Feb. 27 @ Toronto: Tallied 31 points and added nine assists, three rebounds and three steals in a 134-129 win over the Raptors.
March 1 @ Philadelphia: Scored 17 points and added 16 assists and two steals in a 122-103 win over the Sixers.

Well deserved. Does any one else feel Wall has a shot to make an All-NBA team this season? I don't see how he can not at least make the All-NBA 3rd team.

Other guards with a case for All-NBA. Chris Paul, Tony Parker, Harden, Wade, Derozan, Lowry, Kyrie Irving, Ty Lawson, Kemba Walker, Lillard, Dragic, Affalo.

Here are my guesses for the all-NBA guard spots

1st Team
Chris Paul (even if he missed a lot of games)
Harden

2nd Team
Curry
Wade (even if he missed a lot of games)

3rd Team
Wall
Parker

I really can't see how Wall doesn't make the 2nd or 3rd All-NBA team. He honestly should make the 2nd team over Wade.

Westbrook
Paul
curry
harden
Parker
wade
dragic

all have chances over wall...maybe even derozan as well...but if we can nab that 3 seed and he can bring his assists back up to 10 per game...He can see a 2nd team for sure

also the only other 2 player in the east that have won multiple players of the week are lebron and George...and they each only won 2...wall is in elite company right now
Pay your beals....or its lights out!!!
Bron, Bosh, Wade is like Mike, Hakeem, barkley...3 top 5 picks from same draft
mike, hakeem and Barkley on the same team!!!!

If Wall has a sensational last 6 weeks of the season, I could see him putting himself in contention for an All-NBA spot. Based on what he's done to this point in the season, I think there are other guys more deserving. But, the season ain't over yet.

Not unless he dramatically improves on offense. His stats right now are a slight dropoff from last season.

Kyle Lowry and Demar Derozan have been on the NBA.com MVP ladder this season.. If the Wiz finish in 3rd, Wall at least deserves that

Sigh, I wish.. Westbrook is gonna end up playing 50 games putting up his usual stats, and Thunder will probably win the West. He's gonna get grandfathered in

My guesses for All-NBA:

Paul
Curry

Harden
Wade

Westbrook
Parker/Dragic/Wall

That last third team spot is where Wall has his best chance. He will get a LOT of votes, but I don't know how voters will end up weighing his team success vs Parker's or Dragic. My guess is Parker gets grandfathered in.

If when Westbrook was healthy this season Wall has been the better player. I hope you're wrong but nothing surprises me with the NBA.

I agree, Wall has been much better this year. Granted Westbrook never had a chance to get his legs under him, when healthy the guy is a monster.

Really it should be Wall and Dragic for 3rd team, but knowing the voters they'll want to reward OKC and San Antonio.

Is there any doubt now that Wall would have signed a max contract this offseason? If not with the Zards then with another team. JW might not be worth max money (at least not yet) but the decision to lock him up last offseason seemed like a good one at the time and an even better one now.

By signing Wall to a max contract last offseason, the Zards were essentially telling him that “you’re our guy” as opposed to “we’re not sure if you’re our guy. Let’s wait to see how you play this season.” I think the decision took everyone’s mind off this being a “contract season” for Wall, especially JW, and freed Johnny Ballgame up to play his best ball and be the oncourt leader that the Zards need him to be.

I agree with this. I do think wall will be worth the 13 and change he will make on his 1st max contract. He just wouldn't be worth one of those "supermax" veteran max contracts. Teams would have been lining up to throw money at Wall. Who thinks LA or Dallas wouldn't have loved to sign him. I would take Wall at 14 million ten out of ten times over Melo at 18-20 million or Monroe at 14 million.

I never thought I would say this but John Wall is the most valuable PG in the NBA and will likely be so for the next 6 or 7 years. I'm so happy he's figured things out. With a reliable jump shot and an understanding that PG are judged on Win-Loss (not hero-ball bullsh*t) he will only get better. If he develops a floater or running one hander then forget-about-it. The sky is the limit.

you guys leaving Lillard out? I would have Wall over him but the NBA and fans love him. I think he would get it over Wall. So will Dragic and whoever. Unless he has a beast finish, I just dont see him or the Wiz having the prestigue to get him that award that I think he's deserving of. The All Star weekend stuff helped alot but I think we need a playoff run for Wall to get his name out there and then he can be up for those awards next year

Dragic is probably going to fall off. PHX has Bledsoe coming back soon, so he's not going to be going off nightly for 30 a game like he has been, and PHX strength of schedule for the rest of the season is... ridiculous to say the least. It's highly probable that we end up with a better record than them.

A floater would be nice. Post game would be better imo.

What needs to happen though is a coach to come in and take advantage of Wall playing off the ball. It f'ing blows my mind that Wittman has barely set up anything for Wall this season.

I struggle to say who's more valuable than who. I always try to think if you replaced Wall with "insert great PG on great team" how would each player respond? For instance, if you put Wall on the Spurs and Parker on the Wizards, would that make Parker the most valuable PG in the NBA? Would the Spurs suddenly become a better team? I think Wall's value is tied to the fact that there's literally nothing here beyond him so of course he'll be incredibly valuable. If the Wizards somehow acquired Lamarcus Aldridge would Wall still be the most valuable PG in the NBA because he won't have such an incredible burdon to carry?

Could John Wall be an olympic medalist if he was a 100m/200m sprinter, not a basketball player? Is he faster than
