Curious fact : In every LBJ MVP award, he had a 30+ PER season. He never got a 30+ PER season and did not win the award
.
29.4 so far, 27.3 in the Rose year and 29.1 in Kobe's year, so it makes sense that Durant has it this year with a PER over 30.

durant will win it but this " kd surpassed lbj " trend is getting carried away 2 far. He will pass lbj but no now , not yet. Kudos to him , a heck of a year.

damn I was right durant didn't have it on lock earlier but every team choked to make it automatic. durant basically worse stats than last year, worse record than last year, could still get the 3rd seed. Yet will still win mvp. ALL lechoke had to do was win 60 games like I said before

:banghead: :banghead: Durant fully deserved it every step of the way. As a Lebron fan, congrats to the man. Lebron can't win them all.

Just because the MVP season wasn't as dominant as the last couple of years doesn't make KD less deserving of it.

.
Are you high?
.
He went from 28 ppg to 32 with roughly the same percentages. Assists up to 5.5, rebouding down 0.4 points, went from 28 PER to 30 PER...are you crazy? This is his best season

Is Durant gonna sit out the rest of the way or keep playing? He's just below 30 PER and .300 WS/48 now. It seemed almost a given he would get those thresholds.

Just for fun: If LeBron was to play tomorrow and score 101 points, would he win MVP?

Durant number only dropped near the end where all the big games are done. This happens ever year with Lebron too. Even 12,13 and 09 his per was hovering north of 32 and the last month it dropped because he started resting and took his foot off the pedal like Durant. Big deal, not only was this Durant best season. It was one of the best seasons by a wing player ever.

Unless the Clips lose, he's got to to make sure they get the 2 seed (magic number is 1).

4th is pretty open. Wouldn't be surprised to see Harden get it if Rockets finish 4th. Noah has a lot more media hype behind him though.

Blake deserve alot of love. The Guy has taken a huge leap this season. My Top 5 is

1.Durant

2A.Blake
2B.Lebron
3. Noah
4. Harden

Putting Blake on the same level as Lebron is simply asinine. In terms of advanced stats he's not even the best guy on his own team, with CP3 putting up a 25.3 PER season on 58% TS with .271 WS/48. Compared to Blake his 23.9 PER on 58% TS with a .206 WS/48.

Griffin stepped up his game, but let's not pretend that he's the catalyst for the Clippers their success. Chris Paul is, despite having missed a number of games, and he's being shafted by biased fans once more because his game is not of the flashy highlight style.

If Blake's the third best player in the NBA, another CP3 flameout in the playoffs should be an indictment on his historical rank. The best non-Magic PG of all time (as many claim) should be able to advance past the 2nd round of the playoffs with a top 3 player at his side, a championship coach, and the NBA's leading rebounder at center. Right?

Mmmmm this makes it interesting, OKC look like they're going to lose to Detroit, and with a Clippers win that gives them #2 in the West. Surely Durant can't win an MVP finishing 3rd seed in the conference.

 So who's supposed to win then? Parker, Duncan or Manu? Surely Lebron can't win an MVP finishing 2nd seed in a conference where 1st seed is couple of games behind West's 3rd seed.
