And I feel fairly confident that he will re-sign.. Gortat values being in DC more than he'd probably admit. He has strong political ambitions back in his native Poland, and ever since he got here he's been leveraging his Washington DC connections to increase his national profile back home.
I'm not sure how serious his political ambitions are, he's not educated.
What makes you think you need to be educated (or smart) to be a politician? Have you been paying attention to what some of our elected leaders in Congress do and say?
Pretty much this. Of course there is a huge difference between the Polish and American politicians (Poles are not that much into the show, there are only a few politicians wise enough to use sociotechnics to boost their electorate) but politics is just politics - still the same ideas expressed in other way

Lech Walesa was another kind of a politician leader. He was the legend of Poland ... by the time he was elected president he was considered The Guy

That was a harsh time for the country and the society needed to calm the atmosphere in the politics so they chose him even if a lot of people thought he isn`t inteligent and educated enough. 25 years later we do have some goofish, uneducated people in the Parliament but the ratio between them and (let`s say) those 'inteligent enough' decreases yearly
To clarify - people believe he want to be a president as they do not understand Gortat`s irony;-) he may try to use his position in the future to be in politics but I would say that he will try to do that make certain things (e.g. strenghten the basketball in Poland, help to change the public perception of Poles in the US etc.).
Anyway - that was a nice season by Marcin and I hope you guys gonna win with Bulls.
