Re: Update: The BIASED referee calling against the Raptors

Post#201 » by RaptorJ » Tue Apr 22, 2014 1:26 pm

Well this is what happens in the NBA.

The Raptors get screwed when it really matters, calling stupid touch fouls on Ross early and then calling 0 fouls against the Nets in the 4th. But the focus gets put on Masai Ujiri getting fined 25k and the NBA can ignore the obvious BS and act as if the refereeing in game 1 was perfect. ESPN pulls a Hillary Clintonesque "What does it matter?" and goes on to say the Nets are supposed to win anyways.

Zero fouls on the Nets in the 4th quarter. When does that EVER happen?

Clean Jonas Block on KG is one of them.

FWIW, DD cost us the game. Not the refs.

He took 4 3 pointers some of which were super contested (even though he was missing if he was open anyway).

Game #1 was officiated fine. FT's attempts were almost identical.

Raps didn't deserve to win.

Again, it's not about FT totals but when the fouls are called.

No fouls in the 4Q by Brooklyn? Okaaaaayyyy. Sure.

Again less so officiating more so turnovers as result of jitters.

Without even getting into whether the game was officiated well or not, FT attempts are a HORRIBLE way of determining that because it completely simplifies the issue.

It's also easy for refs to balance out the FT's so the discrepencies don't look as bad on the box score.

Sometimes the timing of fouls can increase momentum or completely kill it. Not saying the Refs completely took us out of the game or are the primary reason. I said before the season this team needs to man up despite whatever calls come from the refs and play through it. They need that us against the world mentality.

Officiating was bad both ways the first 3 quarters, looked like we got the short end of the stick in the 4th though.

You have clearly never played basketball. Almost everytime the refs call a game they will call it with the intention to even out the fouls at the end of the game so it looks fair. Then when you go to bitch and complain they will show you the foul count. It is irrelevant.

If you look at that game we went to the line early and Brooklyn didn't. As soon as the second half hit it was the exact opposite and every time we started to get the momentum going a foul would be called.

Im not going to blame the refs when we had so many turnovers, Demar was inefficient, Amir was injured, we shot terrible from 3 (so did BKN), Jonas missed a few bunnies, etc etc.

These have been the best officiated playoffs I've ever seen to be honest.

Definitely good to see Toronto media going off on the refs but Blair just said the ref crew we have tonight favours the home team. Shouldn't be so lop sided tonight. PUT YOUR MONEY ON THE RAPS MONEY LINE TONIGHT!! LOL
