You just made an inverted argument. My point was that Sterling is a nut and a strict exception of the Jewish community. The fact that statistically speaking, the majority of Jews are emphatically liberal and have supported the democratic party in large numbers in nearly every election in the past hundred years is a testament to that. Moreover, Jews were disproportionally involved in the civil rights movement in the 1960s and stood side by side with African Americans in protest against the American government.

To make generalizations about Jews based on the actions of one individual is simply skewed.

On topic: I know the NBA has to do something from a public relations standpoint, but it'll still ring pretty hollow to me considering it's been known for some time that Sterling holds these attitudes and the NBA never seemed to care. Which also makes me question more things about the entire foundation NBA than I care to while eating my crappy lunch at work.

Don Cherry tried something like that years ago when he ran the Mississauga Ice Dogs OHL hockey team. No european players were allowed. I think the rule at the time was teams were allowed up to 2 euro players. It was a failure.

I can't see Sterling keeping the team if it's a money losing decision for him. Other than gate, sponsorship, etc. taking a hit because of reputation, for example the NBA could threaten to void everyone's contracts. Without Paul and Blake the team's franchise value plummets hundreds of millions of dollars. The NBA needs to sit Sterling down and tell him what a bad decision keeping the Clippers is for him compared to getting out with his 1 billion+

I can almost see it the other way around - Sterling is one of Silver's bosses - I think he'll have a hard time booting him from a legal standpoint, on something that may not be admissible as "evidence." But if sponsors, players & fans retaliate, they'll hit him where it hurts - his wallet. He's managed to run a profitable team in spite of being one of the cheapest owners, but I don't think that will last with this type of backlash, and he'll have to sell...
