Then I don't see a point in continuing the conversation TBH. Atlanta doesn't care what Toronto wants, it only cares about how it achieves its own goals. There's no incentive to make a trade for those pieces.

I've got one:
Elton brand for valanciunas, derozen, and Lowry.
Since everyone on our roster actually worth anything in a trade are now off limits this is the minimum we will accept.
Basically what you're saying with your trades that can't involve anyone on the raptors.

Re: Atlanta Hawks Official Trade Ideas Thread
Trade Lou Williams and our 1st round pick to NOLA (not in this summer's draft) for Austin Rivers, Alexis Aljinca and Darius Miller (via sign-and-trade) all are expiring contacts with definite upside IMO
Their combined salaries would be just under 4 million so once we remove the cap hold on the 15th pick as well as bebe's contract we will save over 4 million and fill out a cheap bench with a pretty high ceiling!
We'd require Miller to be non-guaranteed and Aljinca > Ayon
The extra 4+ million should be enough to re-sign mack and scott. So, after this trade the entire cap space can go towards one top FA such as Gordon Hayward!
Remember, we can still swap draft picks with brooklyn next summer if we have the better regular season record.
Time to make "win now" moves!
Teague Mack Schroder
Hayward Rivers Jenkins
Carroll Korver Miller
Millsap Scott Muscala
Horford Aljinca Antic
Well that was fun
fire away!

Yeah, Hawks champs has it. I don't really care what TOR's interest is in dealing for Horford, all I care about is that TOR wants Horford and as far as we're concerned, if you're interest is in an AS C, then you'll need to step up and pay us for an AS C. If you're interest is seeing what you can pull for a bunch of nickel and dimes then you probably would prefer to shop with teams that have a bargain bin. I'd guess Sanders could be had for a package similar to what you're offering; I'm sure you could pique PHI's interest in dealing off Thad Young too. I suggest shopping over there.Rapsobsessed7 wrote:Neither of them would happen. It simply doesnt make sense, the idea is to pair Horford with those two guys & Lowry. I cant see Val being traded under any circumstances to be quite honest, and Demar being a 1st time all-star and proving his play in the playoffs also makes it highly unlikely.
Now if you wanted to talk Terrence Ross, Amir Johnson (3rd team), picks, maybe that sparks Masai's interest but i cant see him dealing the two players you outlined.

The funniest part about this is that it's being called a "Win Now" move. I like Ajinnca - he did exactly what we were hoping from Muscala and Bebe at the beginning of the year in that he played overseas, developed his game, and completely reshaped his body over the past 2+ years. I think he could be a very good backup C in the league for several years to come. In the short term though, I'd think we could get someone to approximate his value on the court in FA so I see no reason to give up Lou+a 1st for him. As for the others, they're dross. Young dross to be sure and they could possibly get better, but on a team as full of roster spots as we are, they serve no purpose. I think I'd probably keep Miller before I keep Rivers, but it wouldn't matter, they're both in the same league as Jared Cunningham - the D-League. Might as well start fresh with our guy over giving NOP a mulligan on theirs.

Re: Atlanta Hawks Official Trade Ideas Thread
Since Horford is always hurt and D-Rose is always hurt...how about a swap?
CHI receives Horford, Teague and Lou Williams
ATL receives D-Rose and Taj Gibson
http://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/6445640
We get a defensive big...and also a young injury prone MVP.
They get a dependable PG...and an ALL Star big to pair with Noah.
If they pursue Carmelo that's four potential All Star players to go to battle with.
Add draft picks as necessary to balance out value? Would we even consider it?

Actually I didn't say that. I said Amir, Ross & picks would be available. Your naive if you think those aren't worth anything. Amir isn't chopped liver, he's the 6th best PF in RPM, 12th in the entire NBA. He may not get the flash and attention of others but analytically they are few better. I also think you guys could use a talent upgrade on the wing which is why a young SG in his 2nd year makes some sense.
I've seen some of your fans propose Horford + Jenkins + 2nd for Perkins + Lamb + Adams + #29. I don't see what's so far off about the pieces I've suggested. Anyways, if you don't like it that's fine, your entitled to your opinion.

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

Exactly. Thanks for the trade idea, but we're ready to suspend trade talks.
Good Luck in Game 7. Goodbye.

That's a interesting trade... I personally wouldn't like it but I think people in the NBA would like it. I don't know about giving up 2 allstar caliber players for a guy that is injury prone and makes nearly as much money as both of them combined.
Don't get me wrong, adding Gibson is a plus, but it gives us duplicity at the 4 with Millsap and Gibson, and doesn't address the Center position OR the wing position. We would basically be in the same spot we are now with a better point guard.

For what I have heard here in Spain, which supposedly comes from there, is that we will offer Greg Monroe a good money to sign here. Getting a big man seems to be our priority. Monroe's agent was Ferry's agent.
Then we will be offering Millsap tp Denver to get Wilson Chandler (who I think is a heck of a player). I guess somebody more has to be involved (I would love to get Randolph, who one day will finally explode).
Teague, Carroll, Williams, Korver, Chandler, Horford, Monroe is no joke in the East.

I don't really see the love with Chandler. Mediocre shooter, not a great scorer, not an above average rebounder. Has a creepy face tattoo on his neck.

That is indeed an intriguing roster.
Do you see that lineup as demonstrably better than our lineup last fall with Millsap/Cartier Martin included?

Trading Millsap for Chandler would be horrible and even though I think Ferry is overrated and has done a poor job of adding talent I don't think he would go that far with it

Chandler is a more injury prone Marvin. If people have a hard on for such a player then Marvin himself is available for likely less than 7 mil a year and you won't have to trade Sap to get him either.

No joke, look it up. It looks like it is of his daughter, but she looks like she is peaking out of the top of his jersey.

There is nothing we can demostrate in basketball. This is no science.
I know I like teams that play with real inside players. At least, one.
I believe we have a roster with quality, but which lacks size and weight, so we are oftenly beaten when we are not worse.
Basketball is based on balance. One cannot win by doing just one thing well. There is a need to score from different positions and in different ways.
I can tell you I am sick of rooting for a team that is already 7 years playing with a PF at C and has done almost nothing to get at least a decent back-up C that can help.
Horford was our franchise player and he is getting his career destroyed because of playing against Cs every night.
