Somebody might reach on him because of his great combine day, but he should go 4th round or later.

No idea if he would be a good fit or not, but his position is of need.

i dont know anything about the SS's available so I'll defer to their judgment, but I guess I'd feel better if they took one. There's still June 1st to shore up safety i suppose. Or whatever cut day is, i cant remember

sounds interesting

Charlie Campbell: Jerick McKinnon is an interesting piece of clay. He is extremely strong and is very explosive. His first step is lightning.

Sounds like a project. Only 10 career receptions!!!??? Also, played some games at quarterback. Remind me of joe webb. Not a big fan of this pick.

I'll admit, I did not know who this guy was 10 minutes ago.

32 reps and a 4.41 is pretty sick though. Combine warrior maybe, but they needed another guy in the backfield and there was a big run on halfbacks before their pick.

I'm not sure if there is such a thing as a project running back. Either you can run or you can't.

overall I think the Vikings are doing a good job on paper. They're filling needs and not making any crazy reaches.

Also think we have to give the Vikings the benefit of the doubt with the a-typical athlete guy after the success with Patterson. honestly, I've been really pleased with Spielman the last 2 years. Draft is such a crap shoot, I hate when teams make those cute picks that nobody else agrees with like we used to do with Michael Boireau and Ryan Cook in the 2nd. I'd rather see a team draft productive guys that everybody else had going earlier than that slot, but are still available. Vikings mostly sticking to that.

guess thats it for today. I'm happy. We've at least tried to sensibly fill the needs. Thats all you can ask for. Maybe Bridgewater really is mediocre, but we didn't have anybody before, now we do. Funny how fast things change, 2 months ago I would've been tempted to trade next year's first and this year's for Bridgewater

Which makes me wonder why more than half of his 2013 games he played quarterback. Either way he will be better than Asiata, but we need a 3rd down HB who can catch and make people miss. He doesn't appear to be proficient with either.

Spielman said he was to good of an athlete to pass up. Said that they had him catch passes and even though he wasn't experienced doing that, he was a natural. People think he will be used like Darren Sproles was when Turner used him. I guess we'll see. I'm just upset because Desir was there and we really need a cornerback and safety. I think we could have picked this guy up in the 5th. Oh well, Spielman has done a pretty good job in the past and it's what he's paid to do, so I can live with it.

the running back is an interesting choice, never heard of the kid - was expecting defense

FWIW Mayock had Chricton 46 on his big board.

In nine starts this year, 5 at QB and 4 at RB.

On concerns over 10 catches, Georgia Southern runs the triple option. RBs don't catch a lot of passes.
