Yup. He had a lot of sentences starting with: "Next year, we are going to..."

Nate, quick question: If we resigned Gortat & Ariza to market deals, and somehow unloaded Nene+Webster for expirings/majority expiring deals, would we conceivably have enough room to go after Love in 2015 FA?

Gortat is the best rebounder per game in the league in the 2nd round of this playoffs:

1. Gortat - 10.17 RPG
2. Aldridge - 10.00
3. Batum - 9.80
4. Lopez - 9.60
5. Durant - 9.50
5. Jordan - 9.50
7. Ariza - 9.17
8. Grifin - 8.83
9. Duncan - 8.20
10. Leonard - 7.60
10. Garnett - 7.60

Nate, quick question: If we resigned Gortat & Ariza to market deals, and somehow unloaded Nene+Webster for expirings/majority expiring deals, would we conceivably have enough room to go after Love in 2015 FA?

I didn't think the team would let go of Nene until they developed enough to take off the training wheels.

Well after that playoff run and
Gortat coming out saying he will only resign if he is more a focus on the offense,
I think they will look more at trading Nene for the right deal.

Gortat is a better big man mentor for Wall and Beal then Nene is. Nene lost his cool. He also isn't favored by the refs because he complains to much. And Nene isn't the best fit next to Gortat. They need a better rebounder. Someone physical like Nene, but better rebounder. That will free up Gortat more.

After what I just saw in the playoffs, I would easily see them making deal involving Nene and Webster if it means molding around TA and Gortat with Otto pulling up the wings.

J Micheal said Gooden is back 100%. AH might be depending on his shoulder surgery. And Miller will get resigned for sure.

Gortat said this?

Do you have a link?

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Per minute he is 8th, Gooden is 3rd.

Very impressive indeed, hands.

During the 20 games Nene was out towards the end of the year, Marc posted:
34 mpg
.582 TS%
26.9 Dreb%
114 ORtg

I don't know how to see or calculate is WS/48 during this stretch. Kev, I'd like to know his PPA.

Full season numbers:
33 mpg
.568 TS%
25.1 Dreb%
112 Ortg

I think Gortat is better without Nene. TRADE NENE!

Yes. Those "market deals" could be no more than 4-years, $80M for Gortat and Ariza combined, and the contracts would have to be structured to minimize the cap hit in 2015 to the maximum extent possible. We'd also have to refrain from signing anybody else. Basically, our roster would be: Wall, Beal, Porter, Ariza, Gortat, 2014 2nd rounder, 2015 1st rounder and that's it.

Easier said than done with 2 years left on Nene's deal and his production in rapid decline.

Gortat would definitely be better off with a stretch 4 next to him.

I was thinking about a potential "workaround." If we traded Nene and/or Webster to a team with cap space (like your Pierre Jackson idea) would we not generate at TPE? Those last for a year, yes? So we could trade them, say, August 1. Then sign Love on the first day of free agency next summer and have a few weeks to go shopping with our TPE(s) (perhaps in combo with future picks) for further depth. It's conceivable that we'd be able to add salary via trade AND use the MLE and stay under next season's projected luxtax of $81M.

From my friend who is "close with Kobe": Lakers will offer 25/2 to Gortat. Dallas wants him, too.

2 years $25 million? I'd love to get Gortat at that rate. 2016 would be clear still.

Will Gortat want to play with an injury prone Steve Nash and Kobe Bryant though?

Or in Dallas, does he see Jose Calderon and Monta Ellis as a better backcourt then we have here? He would have Dirk who's still a great shooter and a guy you can give the ball to and let him work his magic. We don't have a player who has an unarguable shot. :(
