Re: Around the NBA 9.0 (Playoffs Edition)
I can't believe the Cavs got the number one pick
There were far more worse teams. They were even in the hunt at one point but they suck so of course they didn't get to the playoffs
But Wiggins isn't a lock for number 1, I mean Jabari Parker is good too
Lol Simmons at halftime during the heat game was like, It looks like something is on Lebrons mind, like did someone him how Cleveland won the lottery?
Look the Cavs got Irving and look at them now. The Cavs have had opportunities in the past but the only good draft pick was Irving. It will be very interesting who gets picked though, Wiggins is already being crowned the next Lebron, we will see how that goes. I don't think he has the same skills as Lebron, he was an all around player even at 18.
It still sucks and it's unfair for the league for Cavs to get the lotto pick again. Something fishy is going on.

Don't bother with conspiracy theories. They suck and got lucky. LBJ ain't going back there if he decides to leave. There's no way they're winning anything with that young squad lols.

Re: Around the NBA 9.0 (Playoffs Edition)
These playoffs feel identical to the previous two years...
-The Heat are in a dogfight in the East and everyone writes them off for winning the championship because they "can barely even beat the other East team"
-The West teams look to be more suited to win the championship because of huge offensive numbers, largely as a result of pace and weaker team defense.
This time last year:
-Wade was basically playing on one leg
-Ray Allen couldn't make anything
-Battier couldn't shoot to save his life until the Finals (13% from 3(!) in the ECF). He's fully capable of stepping up again
-Bosh was playing as bad as he is now
The Heat were in worse shape in the ECF last year. Not to mention Mike Miller's 5 PPG in the Finals is replaceable.
Year after year, people always have the same critiques of the Heat, but this year I think they're less valid than ever. If/when the Heat make it to the Finals, I think it's a promising series no matter who they play.

Re: Around the NBA 9.0 (Playoffs Edition)
I agree. Young squads are exciting because of their athleticism and potential. Regular season stuff but if Lebron really wants to win like he says, he understands that you win with experienced players and that is what RIley needs to focus on. Miami needs a nice balance of youth, prime with potential to develop that can help carry us during the season, prime players and experienced veterans that know all the ins and outs about winning and you can rely on during playoffs series.
See what San Antonio has done with Tim Duncan, Parker and Ginobili. A nice mix of veterans, prime players and young developing players. But during the playoffs? The vets carries that team.
I am not sure Cleveland offers that with their still developing farm of young players.

I agree with everything except the Mike Miller statement. He offered the team more than just 5ppg. His rebounding, defense, and energy will be hard to replace, not to mention his reliable and perfect timing 3's.
Not impossible to replace, but difficult to replace.

No way LeBron goes back to Cleveland. They don't even have a coach right now lol. He isn't going to go back to that mess of an organization. Let's say they draft Wiggins/Embiid and that player is the next big superstar, well he ain't gonna be ready to contribute to a championship team. That entire team is made up of young players with no experience. LeBron only has another 1-2 prime years left before the gradual physical decline sets in. He isn't gonna go to the Cavs, waste the last few years of prime and then hope to win.

They have homes both here and the one he built in Akron. But I'm sure that would have been news already and he would have put his house down here on sale already too.

Pat Riley's old house is expensive as ****. It wouldn't make sense to keep that if he didn't live down here any more.

Looks like Paul George was re-evaluated today and does have a concussion. From what I remember, the time missed has ranged between 5 and 21 days for concussed NBA players this year.

Watching Game 1 again and I notice 2 things.
1. Cole was bothering Lance in that game also
2. There were a few HEAT FANS right under the basket, had to be some expensive seats...wonder if it was our heat fan that posts here - mMiamiHeatFan6?

Two things:
1) Cleveland could flip the pick for a valuable vet like Love, who would help bring veteran mixture to the very young team
2) Lebron could simply opt out of his contract next year, and use the upcoming year to wait and see what becomes of Miami and what becomes of Cleveland.
I think this team needs some youth. We've relied very heavily on vets, and that's great but it's also a bit of a gamble because you never know when they're going to fall off that cliff. It's a hard job to pick--youth vs experience vs cost--but that's why I don't get paid the big bucks

Re: Around the NBA 9.0 (Playoffs Edition)
Cavs needed to prove something this year if they planned on convincing Lebron to come back. At least a Washington type run in the playoffs. They just showed that their guys mostly just collect garbage stats in blowouts and Kyrie still can't stay healthy.
But beyond any logistics, how would Lebron go back to a team with an owner who berated him in a open letter and fans who burned his jerseys? He still loves Cleveland for sure, but I don't think it's a realistic option.

It is. There are literally 100s of posts of his that you could sig. I have had so many people ask me if he actually made the comment about Miami losing to the Nets because of their fear of the Pacers lol. I think it's a combination of both. He's a troll/Jordan homer/LeBron hater/daft. He literally has the most (Please Use More Appropriate Word) logic when it comes to LeBron, the Heat and really all players outside of MJ.

Oh absolutely, there are all kinds of scenarios that can playout but Love controls his destiny because he is a FA in 2015 so I doubt he wants to go to Cleveland and I doubt Cleveland gives up the 1st pick for a possible 1 year rental.. but I get your point.
With that being said, I agree that Lebron's best move is to use his year to year option and see where the Heat stands first and what else is out there second. Lebron wants to win at the end of the day and every season there are very few teams that can offer that.
Also, on your comments of youth vs veterans, it has been proven over and over that an experienced team with veterans win over youth. However, I agree that every teams needs to develop youth BEHIND those veterans like the Spurs do. That is why I think this upcoming season, adding youth at the end of the bench is going to be a high priority to replace some of the retiring/older players. But I still expect this team to win with a core of Big 3 and veterans (Andersen, Chalmers, Cole, Allen Jones, Haslem etc).
