Monroe on the right deal would be fine as he is made for the triangle. You must put a defensive big next to him though.

Then youvare not a player in 2015. He is not worth that. Id rather make a play for P Gasol. Cheaper and better in the triangle

gasol isnt a free agent in 2015, he's one this year when we have **** to offer him

Not that i think he is garbage or not worth a contract. I juat don't feel it is a good move to tie ourselves up before we have a chance to make a big move. He is not a big move. If you see him in the same light the lakers saw Gasol when they stole him from Memphis but i dont think so. To me this would be Chandler all over again. Nice move not worth the price.

Lets not make the same mistakes we made leading up to and into the summer of 2010 again going into 2015.

Thats not all that weird dude. In fact thats exactly how trades work for stars. Stars are never traded for other stars anymore. Nowadays one team goes for it now while the other team rebuilds. Always.

How is getting an older player in Lee with a contract that goes beyond 2015 supposed to help rebuilding? Thompson is a solid player but this trade helps the Warriors more than it helps the Knicks.

Here I go: This assumes Melo stays.

New York trades- Chandler, Felton, Shumpert, Smith
New York receives- Perkins, Collision, Harkless, 12th pick (Orl)

Orlando trades- Harkless, Afflalo, 12th pick
Orlando receives- Snell, Jackson, Thabeet, 21st pick(OKC)

OKC trades- Perkins, Jackson, Thabeet, Jones. Collision, 21st pick,
OKC receives- Chandler, Felton, Shumpert, 16th pick(Chi)

Chicago trades - Snell, 16th pick
Chicago receives - Afflalo, Smith, Jones
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the draft: first rd only
NY takes- Ennis(12th)
Orl takes- Randle(4th), Napier(21st)
OKC takes- Gordon(16th), Austin(29th)
Chi takes- Porzingis(19th)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Potential team rosters: Starters not including FA(except us)

Knicks: We get younger and rid of two idiots.
Gasol( 1yr MLE)/Aldrich/Tyler
STAT/Melo/Barf/Tyler
Melo/Harkless/FA or Camp invite
Hardaway/Brown/Murry
Ennis/Priggs/Murry

(Melo becomes a full time PF in 2015-16 as he goes into his 30's, Harkless becomes the starter at SF)

Orlando: They get rid of money and gain a PG.
Vucevic
Randle
Harris
Oladipo
Jackson

(This team might be a real problem)

OKC: When the Spurs beat them they will need to shake up things...DRAMATICALLY. Jackson needs money soon and their center position needs help that they won't find with the picks they have. Adams needs another year or two before he can take over the position as the full time starter. Tyson comes off the books next year and Felton has a controlled contract that's not out of hand. He can play his position on the bench as a backup where he would do decent in stretches(as a backup should). They also get Shump who replaces the expiring Thabo and can compete with Lamb for the starting position.
Chandler
Ibaka
Durant
Shump
Westbrook

(That's better than what they have now and it's really not close.)

Chicago: They will not get Melo OR Love and they need a SG....bad a long with some pop off the bench that is not overpaid or on a long deal. This also leaves them open for a run at Durant in 2016.
Noah
Gibson
Butler
Afflalo
Rose

(This team with Smith off the bench with Thibbs in his ass will be one of the best teams in the east. It all depends on Rose and his health)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So there you go, my 2k trade is done

actually it's not. we've given up a lot more than that. and what teams have traded better players for players they've had before, whom they didn't seem enthused about keeping in the first place the way that the rox would like to with lin and the warriors with lee for melo?

Who cares when we get rid of JR AND Felton? Ya can't have everything all at once. No interior defense at all. Harkless has great defensive potential though.

Not only does that team have no defensive presence it has no perimeter defense either. Might as well bring Dantoni

Knicks should sign and trade melo to chicago for Gibson Butler Fillers and a 1st.

Try to sign a pg for the MLE or trade for one

(Chalmers, Harris, Sessions, Collison)/Prigioni
Shumpert/Hardaway/JR
Butler/JR/Hardaway
Gibson/Amare/ Bargs
Tyson/Aldrich/Amare

Not a triangle team but would be amazing defensively. I think they would do pretty well for themselves and definitely make the playoffs in the east. Shooting/Scoring would be an issue but maybe that would give JR and Amare the opportunity to shine as 6th men. Remain competitive while still maintaining cap flexibility.

Suns trade #14 this year, Laker's 1st next year for Melo. Knicks receive TPE. Is this possible if the Knicks rebuild?

you must obviously be from the suns boards, because here on the knicks board, bledsoe, and the Morris brothers have to be included and still not be enough. /sarcasm

Not unless Anthony says that he's leaving the Knicks and signing with a team outright. Assuming that's not the case, it wouldn't be my first choice, no (at least not something I'd be saying take and run). That Laker 1st is top 5 protected in 2015 decreasing it's potential value (and I just don't trust the Lakers to stay bad). And the TPE really doesn't help the Knicks much at all unless they can swing it along with both picks and whomever else for another star player in his prime. With 2015 being the plan (they are capped out even if Anthony leaves right now) they can't possibly use the TPE just on anyone so the value of a TPE is somewhat limited than it normally would be. Interesting though.
