How many international PGs have been highly regarded enough to go in the lottery? Rubio and...

I can't think of any outside of Rubio. Steve Nash might be the closest one but he wasn't even picked till like 15 or 16 in the draft.

Does Nash really count? He went to college here. If that's the case, we shouldn't draft Wiggins or Embiid either since they're international as well.

Edit: not saying you think we should avoid international prospects by the way. Just making the point in general that people that are afraid of an international prospect are being silly. Nobody that drafts Exum is going to draft him without having seen quite a bit of him. NBA personnel have far better resources than us.

Yeah this was an underrated part of Ford releasing everyone's measurements. He's basically Jabari's size (though not nearly as heavy) and can play SG. 6'9" with that ridiculous vert and speed.

Count me in on Wiggins size and athleticism. Very few superstars are not special athletes.

A 6'9 high flying SG paired with a 6'10+ high flying SF? Whats not to love?

Defend, run and dunk.

The Utah board is hoping we take Embiid and trade him to them for this:

Wiggins is 6'9? :o

Any chance he's still growing a la Paul George or Giannis?

That's...not completely horrible. At least it's more thoughtful than the packages Raps fans put together. We could potentially be looking at Smart/Vonleh this year and two top 5s next year. I still wouldn't do it but it at least makes me think a little. I would try to pry one of their younger players (Burks, Kanter) before considering it.

Yeah, it's not as bad as other proposed trades I've seen. They're talking about different scenarios over there. Another was Favors, #5, and take on OJ. The OP was saying he'd be willing to include Favors in the trade that I quoted before as well.

If Embiid's healthy, I'm not moving him for anyone other than Anthony Davis.

Oh, look, you're totally right. Every year, people are wrong all the time on message boards (or mock draft websites). We need to remember that the information we have is trivial compared to teams who have dedicated millions of dollars to scouting, along with thousands of man-hours. Teams should be in a position to make far better decisions than us. That's why every year I pay some heed to who the competent GMs are, and I don't judge too quickly. For instance, I never guess who the Spurs are going to draft, but since they have that track record I'm willing to trust it (the Thunder are another good example). That said, the Bucks front office has a pretty mediocre drafting (and talent evaluation) record, and as such I'd be very nervous about a pick not from the top 3 prospects, who have been picked at and evaluated for a year or more. Guys like Exum haven't, much though I like the look of him.
Its more about luck than anything.

That's why some teams consistently draft poorly and some consistently draft well then I guess... oh wait.

First reaction was 'How is a 6'9 guy going to defend SGs?' But I guess there aren't any top SGs anymore, outside of Harden and you'd think Wiggins can defend him.

Above Exum or are you low on Wiggins?

Wiggins scares the hell out of me. I'm planning a big scouting period after my exams so I've tentatively got Exum at two and Parker at three.

What are you studying?

I think some people are trying to talk their way out of taking Wiggins after waiting for years for a chance to draft him.

In the Duke/Kansas game players with 10 shots or more: http://espn.go.com/ncb/boxscore?gameId=400498246

Wiggins 9-15 22 points 8 reb 25 min
Ellis 9-13 24 points 9 reb 35 min
Selden 5-10 15 points 6 reb 37 min

Parker 9-18 27 points 9 reb 33 min
Sulaimon 5-10 13 points 1 reb 28 min

What this shows is that everyone had a good day shooting but that Kansas had more options to go to so they aren't trying to go to Wiggins as much as Duke is going to Parker.

DX has less than a 2% shooting advantage for Parker from 3 and only 2 ppg more on 2 more apg.

I don't see where Parker has a big shooting advantage.

That's just it. Wiggins can defend and is quick enough at SG.

Wiggins will be able to post in the NBA vs playing against a zone in college.(like Sam Cassell did)
With his elevation I don't know of any guards going to be able to stop him.

How would you guys compare Wiggins and McLemore as prospects? Both were highly touted Kansas wings that lacked that killer instinct and confidence. Wiggins is obviously bigger and probably even more of a freak athlete, but McLemore had the better shot.

I gave McLemore a 2/10 for intangibles and Wiggins a 7/10 FWIW (not much)

I wonder how many points score on dunks per game in the playoffs?

What is the typical distribution between points scored in the transition game? Versus when the opposing defense gets back, and you have to run your offense?
