Lavine is no sure fire lock, there is some stuff there that scares me. But he has incredible tools and would be awful hard to pass up after 12 or 13.

I'm torn on Gordon. I feel like he could be Kilrilenko or Jan Vesely. Leaning towards really liking him but no prospect in the top 10 has me as confused as him.

By the way, I have heard talk about him being a PG. I don't agree. He is 2 who can handle the ball.

source?

i bet it's closer than people think. it's just 99.99% of ppl don't know jack chit so they're guessing on where they think he'll go

LaVine is so athletic that I don't even think he knows how to do a layup.

I could see him becoming a taller Russell Westbrook or a shorter (earlier in his career) Gerald Green.

Random fact that probably only interests me: Minnesota is bringing in LaVine's HS teammate, Josh Martin, who is also a pretty good athlete. Would have loved to see their HS games a couple of years ago.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Hammond tried to find a way to get LaVine. He is the prototypical Hammond pick.

Wiggins’ defense proves definitive as Kansas extinguishes upset bid

LAWRENCE, Kan. — While Andrew Wiggins dunked, spun and glided his way to 19 points, the freshman’s defense on West Virginia’s Eron Harris ultimately proved just as valuable to No. 8 Kansas.

After Harris made three consecutive 3-pointers to put the Mountaineers ahead early, Wiggins tightened up and held the WVU guard without a basket for the game’s final 31 minutes. That essentially nipped any notion of an upset, and the resulting 83-69 victory gave Kansas a two-game lead in the Big 12 standings.

“After he hit those three 3s, I had to guard him closer and be more aggressive,” said the 6-foot-8 Wiggins, who’s five-inch advantage helped close out the perimeter looks by Harris. “I tried to turn him into a driver instead of a shooter.”

Harris still managed 17 points—scoring his final eight points at the foul line—but missed his last six shots from the floor as West Virginia 14-10, 6-5) went cold from 3-point range and saw its three-game winning streak clipped.

“Wiggins did a great job,” said West Virginia coach Bob Huggins. “It crippled us today because Terry (Henderson) didn’t do what he typically does, and Remi (Dibo) didn’t make any. It was hard to score.”

You already know how I feel about the West Virginia 3 midget game, but the ability to help defend in the backcourt against top flight point guards and two's is why I won't smash my laptop if the Bucks take Wiggins at 2. I do feel that we are in a no lose situation with the top 3. We'd get something great out of each.

I really like him. Not enough to draft him at 2 by any means, but if we were picking in the 5-10 range, I'd be all over him. Something about an insane athlete that also has extremely high BBIQ for his age just seems like a great combo to me.

I think he's better right now than Jan Vesely is lol, so I don't think he's going to be THAT big of a bust. I think he'll figure out a way to make his skillset work in the NBA.

So, from Simmons we know Arsen probably still has some value. Whether it's a mid first or second, it remains to be seen.

From Lowe we know Henson's trade value around the league is in the neighborhood of Barnes/Monroe, give or take.

Would be real nice to get two of Stauskas/Payne/Anderson/LaVine/Herzonja/Adams/Porzingis/Maybe even Early. Saric if he falls out of the top ten.

Wilcox is definitely a guy that I expect will be able to contribute, which is perfectly fine for a 2nd rounder. I'd rather take him at 36 though and swing for the fences one more time at 31.

I like Devyn Marble as well.

I expect nothing but I would just love it if we cashed in on some of our assets and re-upped with some new ones. Arsen is the leading candidate. Knight is also, but I don't think this team has the guts nor the foresight to move him until his value is nil.

What did Simmons and Lowe say exactly?

Simmons included Arsen in a list of guys who he thought could be traded for a pick, and Lowe listed Arsen (and Sanders) as guys who have positive value as possible trade bait.

What did Simmons and Lowe say exactly?

In a recent column, Simmons mentioned Ilyasova among the veteran help teams would consider for their middle-to-late lottery picks.

Lowe's column was a while back -- we talked about it on here, too -- and Henson's name came up along with Barnes and co. when talking about value around the league.

Mid lotto = 7-10 range? I just cannot believe that Ilyasova has that much interest. That would be insane.

Well we are talking about a future superstar, I think 7-10 is more than reasonable.

But seriously, if we can get a 1st round pick for him he needs to be moved.

I would take any first for Arsen or Knight. I would take any first before 17 or so for Henson.

Probably agree on Ersan, though those stretches where he plays like a 18/8 guy would sorely be missed for when we're ready to win games again. If we can actually get a lottery pick for him like someone said, you absolutely have to though. Knight, I'd rather not trade him if it's only a late 1st round pick. As far as PGs (and I use that term loosely lol) go in this year's draft, I'd take Knight over Ennis and Shabazz at least. Payton intrigues me though.

I definitely trade any of the 3 for a lottery pick though without hesitation.

I wouldn't necessarily need to take a PG with the pick though. At this stage, I'm drafting BPA (best prospect available) with an emphasis on upside. We need to be collecting young assets, and then determining after a little bit about whether they fit into our future plans (Giannis, Middleton) or whether it's better to cash in and find some new lottery tickets (Knight, maybe Henson).

Regarding PG, I would go into the season with Wolters as my starter, and would find a cheap backup and utilize Giannis in the role as well.

Unless I got offered a good pick I thought I could get another shooting 4 with I'm keeping Ersan to space the floor for my young guys.
