Darko actually does have a ring (Pistons 2003/04) even though he barely played that season.

There article mentions that Lebron is interested in playing with Carmelo and that Carmelo could realistically join the Heat next year. A big four of Lebron, Wade, Bosh, and Carmelo is just plain stupid. There would no competition in the league. That is like having a team of Jordan, Pippen, Barkley, and Drexler all together in their primes. If all of those players take a pay cut it can actually happen. I really did not think Lebron, Wade, and Bosh would actually end up playing together and they did, so I do not think this scenario is impossible. I think the league might have to step in here and do something about this. That is four fifths of the starting lineup for Team USA playing together. They might as well just hand them the trophy every year they are together before the season even starts. That team would make the league not even fun to watch. It would be a joke.

I read that earlier today too, but c'mon, that's not gonna happen. There is probably a better chance LeBron goes to NY to join Melo and Phil next summer after another year in Miami.

Damn you're right. If even Darko has a ring...

The Chicago Bulls, Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks are all teams Anthony would consider starting July 1, sources say, if the 30-year-old decides to become a free agent this summer.

I hope 'Melo goes to Chicago. Its a perfect fit for both sides. Noah and Gibson can cover up 'Melo's (lack of) defense and Melo can provide the offense that Chicago desperately needs.

Plus if Rose ever gets back to being healthy and returning to his MVP caliber play, then Chicago becomes the best team in the league.

I do not know about that. Virtually every major media outlet has picked up this story the past couple of days and said it is a legitimate possibility. Major sources at ESPN are saying the Heat are looking into doing whatever they can to make it a reality. It is not absurd to think they can all really be on the Heat next season. If they are, there would be no competition for them in the NBA, and that is a shame.

Don't see a big 4 happening. I don't think Bosh sticks around if Melo gets onboard. He's playing a small role already in the shadows of Lebron and Wade and with Melo, the only touches he'll get is from O boards. He's won two rings already and had taken a pay cut to win so I could just see him signing with another contender or up and comer on a near max deal.

Keep in mind also, the only way the Big 4 happens is if everyone takes a significant pay cut or some combination of max deal and $10m deals. Wade wouldn't mind a pay cut at this stage in his career, Melo is desperate for a ring, Lebron could make just as much money without his NBA salary and all 3 are very marketable individually to get very well paid endorsements. Bosh doesn't have nearly the same marketability as those other 3 so the question is whether Bosh would take another significant pay cut and I just don't think he would.

Are you really convinced Wade would not mind a pay cut? This was his team to start with and he does have a pretty big ego and he has a new bride or bride to be who is used to the finer things in life.

I can't be 100% convinced but it is a calculated guess. He has on more ring than Lebron and Bosh, he makes more in endorsements than Bosh and Melo and he's not going to leave his team just so Miami can bring in Melo. If they don't win this year, I think he may take a discount to bring in more help because he's not going to be able to carry the team as the #2 go-to option for much longer.

That's just my feeling

Lebron and Melo to Phoenix. Match any contract offer Bledsoe gets. Amare will get cut from the Knicks, and we could pick him up for veteran's minimum during the season.

If you want ANY chance at LeBron at all, you're going to need to max out Bledsoe.

I don't think Wade would want to take a further paycut, or Bosh. I also think that if Melo joined them it doesn't make them sudden favorites to win it all but only makes them the certain favorites to win the east which they already are. This Miami team is on the decline. Melo is another high usage player to add to two more high usage players in Wade and LeBron.

If Wade wasn't around, Melo would be a nice fit there. But ultimately I don't see any of Melo, Wade or Bosh wanting to take less money to make it happen. Maybe Melo just for the ring, but Wade is not going to want to defer more.

The Suns won't max out Bledsoe before he hits FA. Just match the offer-sheet and maybe he'll get less than max. His cap-hit is low enough that the Suns can trade for a star with room for another max FA...

Bledsoe, Ish
Green, Goodwin
Melo, Tucker
Lebron, Frye
Plumlee, Len

Plus maybe a rookie or two if they're not traded. This is a dream scenario obviously.

I believe the Suns could sign Lebron outright, but the only way they would get him and Melo is if Melo was signed and traded for equal salary to the Suns. That would take quite a few contracts to get done. That would involve probably Dragic, Frye if he opted in, and more players such as the Morris brothers. Then the Suns would sign Bledsoe after all of this happens since they have his Bird rights I think. Pretty interesting scenario. The Suns would surely look amazing on paper. Now I wonder if the Suns would prefer a team with Lebron, Carmelo, and Bledsoe, or Lebron, Love, and Bledsoe. The only thing with having Lebron and Carmelo on the same team is that they both play virtually the same position now. I think they could co-exist together since they both want to win, but the Suns would still need a legitimate scoring power forward or center in the frontcourt.

I have been trying to find out the date by which Channing Frye has to pick up his player option. I have searched and cannot find the date, I do know it is after the draft. Its front page news on ESPN that Melos date is June 23'rd. Now I ask ESPN, How do you expect Channing to feel? You make it front page news about Melos player option but dont have any concern about the emotional state of Channing.

It's June 23 for him too.

If Melo wants to be with the big three in Miami bad enough, then he should opt out and sign for whatever they can give him for next year... like a few mil on a one year contract. If a championship is important enough to him, then one year of taking crap money should be his plan.
