Go IRANNNNNNNN, my poor players have been through soooo much adversity during this journey its so sad. the F'ed up govt took the money and cancelled all the meaningful friendlies and training and told them they cant even trade jerseys. For sure Iran is the most under previlaged team in the WC. Anything positive they do is a plus for me. They are pretty much here because of the Coach CQ and their individual abilities. Zero support from the govt. :banghead: :banghead:

To the two of you who And1'd this, you should have seen it during its first seven minutes of life. I fell asleep using the RealGM app last night and woke with a start. Instinctively I picked up my phone from my chest and opened the app again to control any damage done.

Sure enough, I discovered that I'd clicked and typed in just the right combination to have opened a thread I never intended to, quoted the first post, and let auto-complete assist me in posting "kiss you right here."

In retrospect, I should have left it up.

If Pepe gets ejected for that "head butt" Müller should get exected for the double flop. This is why Americans aren't big on soccer - grown men acting like little girls and cheating with their flops to gain advantage. Get off the ground, quit crying, win fair and square.

But in football hit situations where they are attacking the ankles, chins and just the general leg area often times with studded shoes it can actually be quite painful, especially if you get attacked in a non-protected area. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of theatrics in football, but at the same time, it gets overblown because it can be an extremely painful sport at times.

This is in contrast to many of the flopping done in the NBA where it's usually body to body contact which players exaggerate and it's not nearly as dangerous or painful as it would be in football if the contact would have been legit. Again not saying there aren't some flopping and theatrics in either sport, but I think football has had a worse rep over the the years in regards to it, mostly by other fans who follow other sports and haven't actually played football and don't really know what it's like to have your legs swept from underneath you, or to feel studs on your thighs, or to have them directly jarred into your calves.
Why so serious?

I don't like flopping in the NBA either, but you'll get fined for it - D Wade got fined in the Finals for flopping. And in basketball, a flop is a lot less likely to impact the outcome.

Regarding Müller vs. Portugal, I don't think he was in any pain at all, it was purely play acting to gain an advantage. Germany has a good squad, they shouldn't need underhanded tactics to gain advantage.
