Just beautiful.

I'm glad the real Ghana showed up on Saturday. Too bad we took the US for granted and didn't pounce on them.

I don't think it's that we didn't take the U.S. for granted (aside from sleepwalking through the first 30 seconds). Ghana out shot them 21-8; had possession for most of the game. Although it sure did look like Ghana was the better team, sometimes the shots just don't go in. I think there is a good chance that the U.S. loses their next two games and we beat Portugal. The U.S. just did not look impressive at all last week.

The U.S. just did not look impressive...yet we took full advantage of our chances and constantly stifled the Ghana attack.

Possession isn't nine tenths of the law in football...ask Spain and Mexico. I'll take an 'unimpressive' win 10 times out of 10 and guess what, that was an impressive win! We dug deep and stole the game in its dying embers after exploding out of the gates. Ghana dicked around with the pelota and couldn't attack down the centre of the pitch - i.e. where we were most impressive defensively.

But hey, you guys looked like the better team right? Too bad that doesn't matter in a game where goals are so precious. The better team on that day always wins, that's why they get the better result. That's sports 101.

I'm not taking anything away from the US. My ethos is bad because I'm not a huge soccer fan, but Ghana controlled the ball and had much more threatening opportunities than the US. Kudos to them, though; they found a way to win, and that's all that matters.

Just to leave a message of sympathy to my american friends, I hope you guys are a little bit sad after the game, but most of all I hope it is a good game without referee errors, violence or acting between the players!

Cheers to all, and sorry for your loss :D

The U.S. is only starting a lone attacker in Dempsey. Unfortunately I think it's one of the better options Klinsmann has at this point. It's his own fault for not preparing pre WC for this situation by bringing Agudelo, Boyd, or Donovan. Instead he opted for the likes of the useless and virtually effectively useless Green and Wondo, respectively. So no excuses for Klinsi if we don't get a result out of this game and advance from the group, but I like the adjustment that he made to turmoil better than I don't.

Although ideally I would have started Zusi and Diskerud, while taking Bedoya and Johansson out. Then we'd at least have a link between the midfield and attack with the aggressive, creative, and scoring-minded Diskerud.

I worry the first half of this game will look like the first of Klinsmann's tenure against Mexico where we were almost all behind the ball and then seldom could get out of our own half let alone create several quality chances because we had only 1 attacker up top who was double and triple teamed so he couldn't be an effective target man, heavy congestion in the middle to kill build-up, and no dribblers of note to move the ball up field either that way. Then that forced adjustments in the 2nd half, and we played much better netting a draw, but you'd rather give yourselves the best chance for 90 instead of seeing the problem for 60 and then finally making changes to solve it. Don't want to concede a lead and then be forced to hope Portugal gets tired or U.S. can get it done in limited minutes actually going for goals.

U.S. losing won't get Canada any closer to actually making a World Cup. You need to improve by 8 goals to even get by Honduras and earn the final qualifying spot out of CONCACAF.

cmon man, why not a US win or even draw?

Even if US wins, they still will be playing for dibs of the group with Germany.
