Hennigan hasn't screwed us over yet so I guess I should be a bit more optimistic about Evan. Hopefully he's a diamond in the rough like Vucevic/Harris.

DraftExpress just updated again. Still have us taking Exum and Nurkic.

Oladipo to SG was the plan all along.

Here's my 2 cents: Evan Fournier, as a standalone trade, is a talented asset. Obviously, at some point we were going to lose Afflalo and Vic Oladipo was the #2 overall pick so he had to be slotted as the starter at some point. I, not too sure why we we'd make a move so early. Maybe the CLE deal was dead. Maybe this lets us take a salary in the CLE deal. Either way, I think Embiid goes 3 and we get Exum.

The CLE rumors were just that: rumors. Afflalo was never worth a lotto pick, or worth moving up to #1. Fournier and a 2nd is his value. I'll take it. An Exum/Dipo/Fournier backcourt is a very, very good start.

PG: Exum, Jameer, Payton???
SG: Oladipo, Fournier, Lamb

I like it. Fournier is a crafty heady player. I like that he can create for himself and Exum is going to draw and kick to Fournier in the corners all season long.

DraftExpress mock draft is updated, and they still have us with Dante Exum at four. However, they pushed Nurkic up to 11 to Denver, and we get Stauskas at 12.

I would have loved that draft before trading for Fournier, now I'm not so sure.

I'm not really big on trying to guess a thinking-man's next move, and this will be the only thing I say about this trade:

- We want the #1 pick. It's been rumored today that we want Jabari Parker at #1.

- No one was giving us a top 10, chances are Cleveland wasn't enamored with Afflalo. Cleveland says: "No deal. What else can you offer?"

- We move Afflalo to Denver for Fournier - We get compensation for him and shed roughly under $7M in the process. In addition, it creates an opportunity for us to take back salary. Maybe it attracts them by giving them more cap to lure LeBron and maybe another sidekick to appease him.

- My guess is that our next/final offer to Cleveland is #4, #12, and Harris. Harris is expendable if we have a chance at Parker to play starting SF for us.

This trade only happens if Parker, Wiggins, and Exum are gone by #4. That gives us 1 rookie and maybe another rookie (#56 if he makes the roster) coming into the season.

Maybe Dipo by himself. If the little birdie said Dipo+4, then you better break its neck.

Fournier when playing 30+ minutes over first two NBA seasons:
17.6 PTS (44% FG on 13.7 FGA, 41% 3PT on 5.7 3PTA), 3.1 AST, 4.4 REB, 1.3 STL, 2.3 TOV in 34.8 MPG over 15 games

edit: also 3.9 FTA

Mannn getting exum and stauskas was my dream scenario until Afflalo trade, now getting stauskas dont make much sense

Say we do replace Harris with Parker, was it worth #4 and #12 to do that? Is the difference between Harris and Parker the #4 and #12 picks? I don't know, I think I'd rather have Harris, Vonleh and Payton than just Parker.

Why? Look at his adjusted stats per 40mpg.

He's a 17/5/4 guy against NBA talent right now. Noone wants to give me a 10-20 pick for Afflalo? Okay, I'll get a young guy who I have data on.

Hennigan may have done it again. I'm cautiously optimistic to see.

Today's NBA is analytics. Speculation not based on data has gone the way of the dinosaurs. Right now, there is a huge information gap between GMs and fans.

except no one plays 40mpg. Show me his stats at 31mpg, that is more realistic. then you are talking about 13/3.5/2 as a starter.

that 13/3.5/2 projection is for a 6'7" 21 year old guard locked in for 2-3 more years at 20th pick contract scale...those #'s would be an excellent value for $1.5 million

i agree it looks nice, just didnt want people to expect him coming in putting up 15/5/5 right away.

I agree I do not want to trade Dipo. I'm assuming if we do maybe Waiters may come to us. Still, I would absolutely hate losing Dipo.
