All we need now is for Obama/ Obeezy to seal the deal with a facetime with Melo asking him to come to the Bulls. Take one for the team Mr. President.

It sucks, but at the end of the day it was always going to be a competition between money and opportunity.

he won't give up the chance to be wined and dined the rest if the week.

He could pull a Lebron and just go for the fun of it :D

well whatever happens we on the Bulls forum will always have today.

But mark my words if melo takes the max the knicks will not win a title in the next 5 seasons unless they get lebron or durant. I wont be mad at all that he did either.

I bet miami heat fans and lebron will be happy he did tho.

It's going to come down to how much Melo wants to win and not wait a year for something that's an unknown.

Now you're getting back to the whole recruit vs not recruit.

Wasn't me who brought it up.

"In the first place" details never having his view in the first place. I could see if Derrick didn't want to play with someone who would take his shots away but it's his preference.

Changing someone's view is not easy and I don't think that his view on recruiting has changed, just speaks to how close he, Noah, and Thibs are.

Still speculation mostly at this point, but seems like it went well. Noah, Gibson, and Rose were there, Thibs came was with him on the bus shuttle over, and lead the way in the pitch meeting.

Still think Melo is going back to NY, but I'm sure we gave him something to think about.

Doubt it.

The fact that he's still here and has to go to Texas tells me he must be having the time of his life. The dude is getting so much love from a city he's not even from. I think this may be the best pitch he gets.

We could but we won't know for days. Really, we NEED to. He leaves without one, and the chances of him coming here go down every day by a lot.

Can we get some context about this Windhorst thing? I heard something earlier in the day but he said it was all "unofficial" or some other pretense and nobody else really ran with it. If he was really pushing it I would imagine it'd be in writing by now.

Sure you can criticize him for saying he won't recruit, but the other stuff was over the top by some people.

I don't see an argument for how this was a "+" for Rose. It was huge for the Bulls, but Rose seemingly got pressured from Thibs and Noah.

Enough calling out of fans. Today's actions pretty much prove, that the franchise believed it was important for Rose to be part of this and that he wasn't doing the team any favors by not recruiting.

All of this should have been avoided in the first place.

That same article had Rose clamoring about Melo. For all we know, his comments about recruiting meant he wasn't going to call up other players and tell them to come. That doesn't correlate to him not being willing to be apart of the pitch. You can speculate that Jo's tweet was geared towards Rose and he felt pressured to do so, but it's all speculation. I highly doubt he would let all the bashing from the internet sway what he was doing, or else he would have been back from his ACL and MCL injuries earlier.

This is a + for Rose because he's willing to be apart of a pitch to recruit an FA, and it was proved today. That's fact. Everything else is speculation, but people love to speak up without trying to better understand the context of a quote or what he meant by what he said.

What was there to avoid? For all we know, he was going to be their today regardless if that Yahoo article came out or not.

It seems pretty unlikely that this was all planned from before. If so, why make the comments "He can come if he wants to" and "It's not my job".

It seemed pretty obvious that the Bulls were not pleased with his comments and spoke to him about it. Sure that's speculative, but everything is here.

It's definitely a plus that he was part of it.

The real question is after that report does Melo stop all meetings and hop back on the flight to NY.
