This (the topic of this thread) is the type of thing that has me down on the organization. And this is not an outlier, IMO.
It's sad. Things don't have to be done this way. But they are done this way. And that is why people become alienated, IMO.
Me too. It seems that the fans from 15-30 years ago are completely different from the one today, I think they were a lot more modest and humble than they are now. The crazy amount of disrespect from the Houston organisation and fans was enough for me to leave a forum so bias you think it was some kind of cult. Race is part of it, but why when corporate sponsors from Asia are supporting Houston? I didn't see that kind of hatred when he was at GSW or at NYK.
Sad to see this kind of disrespect towards someone who became the first Asian-American to play in the NBA and coming from the end of the bench who was a game away from retiring to becoming a full time starter. Lin is a great player and all round nice guy, never seen the guy try to diss off anyone or try to disrespect anyone.
Luckily there are other higher quality and professional teams (and fans) in the NBA that Lin can go to, that's why we can still love this game.
* Since 1985, Jeremy Lin became one of 15 players to have scored at least 20 points, seven assists and a steal for six games in a row, including 136 points in 5 starts beating out Iverson, Jordan and O'Neal
