Oh, you mean like dismissively suggesting that being a wife is not about being cool (but rather some unnamed responsibility that defines being a wife), despite the fact that it should be plainly obvious that some wives being cool does not imply that that is part of their responsibilities as a wife or what they're about?

Or like going off on a tangent about responsibilities of a husband and family vs work when my post was about cool wives who like to do their part in a relationship?

Anyway, good luck on your marriage.
this isn't the marriage thread..

Agree. I'm done.

There is like 100+ people lurking this thread on a Saturday night of a holiday weekend. I please ask that we stop this insanely stupid pissing contest about wives and relationships until a month from now. On August 5th, we'll have nothing to talk about it, do it then. Tonight, save the posting in this thread to actual discussion about Anthony, the more sources the better.

Melo's lawyers aren't here to negotiate a trade with the Knicks, they'd be here for whatever reasons Anthony needs his lawyers. My assumption is that he wants to stop paying NY income tax ASAP if he is in fact leaving NY.

Unless Melo just wants to take them to Hot Dog's before they close, there's no reason for them to be here any sooner than mid-week, at the earliest.

Once again, Bulls don't even know how much cap space they'd have to spend so there wont be any negotiations going on any time soon.

Now, I'm like 60-40 that the Lakers are leverage to get NY to trade him and Chicago to pay him his max and not actual interest in the Lakers, but I don't know. I do remember the 2010 decision and all week no one talked about Miami then Miami is talked about a day before out of no where and then all of the sudden "talents...South Beach...not 6, not 7"

Let's hope.

This would be amazing. But what happens if Phil calls Melo bluff?

Bluewaterheaven wrote:Hey guys. So I just want to give you a piece of info I just heard. Last year I interned at Steptoe Johnson, a very large global law firm. I still keep up with some people there. A few of the senior partners are season ticket holders, and also do a lot of work with InCapital, which is owned by Tom Rickett, the Cubs owner. Anyway, word is, in the office, Melo's attorney's are heading into Chicago tomorrow. That is all I got.

So I didn't want to be just another Rando with a Source, but my Father and I have relationships with two Sr. Partners at Seyfrath Shaw LLP HQ'd in Chicago: One of the partners called me earlier this afternoon (b/c he knows how closely I'm following the Melo situation) and the other partner confirmed via text that Carmelo's Attorneys will definitely be in Chicago by tomorrow mid-morning.

NOTE: I've been a heavy-lurker throughout this Melo process, and wanted to take a moment to thank you all for helping me through this roller coaster of a week. My process has been: 1) Read latest breaking story from (insert that hack ESPN/Yahoo "Insider") 2) Dial into 4-way conference-call with my Bro's to discuss the legitimacy/effect of said latest news 3) Come here to read through latest 8-10 pages of latest Melo Thread 4) Re-calibrate my thoughts on whether we land Melo.

Right now, I am very confident Melo will be a Bull.

Within the next 24 hours, or the next few days or?

Last report out of NY said within 24 hours.

The headline said within 24 hrs but the article said more or less maybe.

Anthony is expected to make his free-agent decision soon, perhaps within the next 24 hours.

I still can't imagine what kind of plan Phil is trying to sell him on, 2015 is a pretty weak FA class (unless they somehow managed to land Love and/or M. Gasol) but he'd be wasting at least 2 years until 2016. And they really have no assets to trade right now

Once it gets out that he let Melo go for nothing NY media and fans alike would turn on him with the likes that you have never seen before. Is Phil willing to risk that?

Maybe that's where we trade Taj for Cap space, sign Melo and then S&T for Pau? Not sure how that whole Ralph trade went but maybe that's what the contingency plan is.

It's the holiday weekend, beautiful weather here and I'm in a thread hearing people talking about attorneys coming to Chicago tomorrow.

And I don't regret it.

Return to Chicago Bulls
