None !

Only Jeannie Buss and Melo. If he wants to sign with LA then I guess Melo can easily convince the Lakers to accept a sign and trade. He could say he helped the Knicks.

The Lakers have zero incentive to accept a sign and trade but at the same time, it won't hurt them either as we're not in the same conference.

I doubt it. But im sure people would still find a way to paint Melo as greedy and money hungry if he did.

I will say this. I don't see James stopping it from happening for 5 million. If melo takes less to sign outright with the bulls he be stupid not to just sign in Miami. That's just how I see it though. Know what im saying.

I haven't read all the posts so this might be a repeat. What if Melo wants Chicago but only via sign and trade to get max? Lakers are used as leverage in that scenario. Phil has to decide whether he loses Melo for nothing or does the S&T for Boozer and pieces.

Could it be that the sources that leaked the "Lakers are in play" did that as a favor to the Lakers to make them relevant and to help them save some face?
Is it possible that Jackson also told his fiancée that he wouldn't mind and would look the other way if those reports came out because it would help her and her family business?
Shelbourne- LA Reporter
Simmons- Living in LA
LA Times Reporter- obviously, LA

Me- I LIVE IN L.A. too (and still for the past 16 years that I've been here I still have been an ardent Knicks fan!)

If anyone gets a tip on where they think he is in L.A., let me know and I'll drive out and see if I can track him down...do some P.I. work for ya'll. :P

Relax, folks...."If Melo signs, man are we fortunate. If Melo leaves, man are we fortunate." Zen this shyt, brothas and sistas.

Mirotic and a couple of picks?

I think I said this to you on the Bulls forum, but Mirotic has asked for assurance he will not be traded. He will stay overseas if his rights are traded to NY so that's a non-starter.

I now hope Phil specifically demands his soft ass

Ok nobody say anything bad about Melo, he might be reading this...

Scene: Melo and boys laying around on $100k patio furniture, in food comas after the latest Whole Foods potato salad run. Each man (except Melo) has either a tablet or phone.

Entourage member: <"Nah son, nah son, nah son, check THIS one!"

Melo: <takes long drag off blunt, answers with breath held> ""A'ight, go..."

Entourage member: "If Melo does us like this, Lebron's first trip back to Cleveland after signing with Miami will look like a hero's welcome compared to the reaction Melo will get when he comes back to MSG. I want batteries thrown at his fat ass."

<Whole group explodes with laughter, Melo doing so by finally exhaling his last hit>

I'd rather not include mirotic. knicks can take the picks or lose him for nothing.

You still don't get it do you. If Knicks don't get what they want they will let him go and sacrifice 50 mil instead of taking your crap.

I'm not saying it's true, but to play devil's advocate, wouldn't it make sense that if he (or any free agent) made a decision and made their new/existing team aware, that the contract would begin to be drafted and gone over by the agents and lawyers so that it is ready to go by the 10th? Then the 10th just becomes sign the dotted line and press conference. Maybe I'm wrong? I'm not a lawyer

No, Bulls don't even know how much cap space they'll have available so any story about anything being signed any time soon is 100% BS.

All they can offer Melo is hockey money....those guys don't make nearly as much as the average NBA player; we're basically talking WNBA budget when you bring up the Bulls :noway: We will be rolling if you go to that team and don't win ****, Melo!!!

What if you acquire his rights as the centerpiece of the deal and he just never comes or stalls a few more years?

I would say if they want to keep some of their players ie gasol and mle they might be interested in sign and trade. Say a jordan hill s and t and nash for melo s and t. Obviously we would have all that issues with apron so a third team might be needed. However saying they have no incentive would ve wrong.
