Yeah, it's been pretty bad. And it's all lebrons fault.

I don't understand why he can't just make personal visits or decide to stay in Miami already.

He could start enjoying his summer break the sooner he breaks the news to the public about what the hell he's gonna do.

Just throwing this out there for thought too. Let's say Lebron, Bosh and/or Love don't end up in Phoenix. What other FA would you want to sign or would you be happy with little to no moves at all?

It would be better to not make any moves than make panic moves like sign a Beasley or Warrick to contracts.

No. That's an agent's job. :blank:

I would be fine if we just stayed put tbh. Develop our young guys and just play fun exciting basketball.

Yup I think McD is going hard or going home. I don't think the Wolves are trading love until the off season anyway. And if we can't get a free agent this year oh well we will be on the top of every disgruntled star or free agents list.

If we swing and miss on a big name I'd be more than happy to sign a rotational guy or two but not throw money away like we did with Childress and Banks. I have much more faith in McDonough though.

The quiet before the storm is killing me.

Longtime lurker, decided to start posting. Became a season ticket holder for the first time last season and it was amazing. This looks like the best Suns board around, thanks for letting me jump in.

He'll be a free agent next offseason.

bwgood77 wrote:No, regardless of what he signs for we would have to shed at least 3 of Len, Morris, Morris and Green to sign two of those max guys, which is the reason many people would rather just keep our depth and only get LeBron. And like I mentioned before, maybe sign someone else that is cheaper with the other cap space (we'd have around $10 million left and could sign someone else....partially so we don't lose the cap space but also could be another asset to throw in a mid season Love deal or make us feel more comfortable losing some depth in such a trade).

Pretty much...

Dragic - 7.5
Bledsoe - 6.6 (cap-hold)
Len - 3.6
Green - 3.5
Kieff - 2.9
Marcus 2.9
Warren - 1.6
Ennis - 1.3
Plumlee - 1.2
Tucker - 1.2 (cap-hold)
Goodwin - 1.1
Beasley - 0.78

= 34.3 mil

Subtract almost 11.5m to be able to afford two max deals.

Riley is going hard after him, but Deng is sticking firm so far that he isn't going to take a paycut to play in Miami. Stand firm Luol!

Would it even matter if Bosh doesn't take a paycut?
If Bosh doesn't take a good sized pay cut I'm not sure Miami has much room left for any free agents at all. A couple of days ago the report was that Wade taking $12 and Bosh taking $11 would leave Riley $12 million to bring in free agents. If Bosh instead gets $17-18 then Riley has $6 million or so to work with. Deng is worth more than $6 so I can't see this working.

Wade really needs to take a cut due to his unstable health to the team. That team needs some real upgrading if they want to win...As much as it is the Heat's admin team to take on the responsibility of it working out, there's not much wiggle room in terms of cap space unless you're taking a hit salary wise for your team.

Because of this, there's a good chance it blows up in their face and Lebron may face the most logical option is to become a Phoenix Sun.
I hope that we don't sell of Alex Len to make space for LBJ and Bosh to come over.

Last year was similar because Howard didn't commit until the 6th, but for us it was exciting because we made the Bledsoe trade on the 2nd. My fear was LeBron would hold up the market like Howard did. Now I think he will hold it up even longer than Howard did.

Now the NBPA union is getting pissed about players being expected to take lesser contracts "for the team". So much mojo is lining up against the Big 3 model of building a team. More help for us.

Little to no moves at all if it isn't LeBron, Bosh or trading for Love. If they think they can sign a guy that Minnesota would be happy with in a trade for Love, that is a consideration, but otherwise I would just possibly sign hidden gems that may have big upside that Hornacek could get out of them (Green, Plumlee anyone?). BSoTS did a under the radar free agent article which I quoted a couple of times.....Grant Jerrett for example...he could probably end up being a Frye clone or better, and we could likely get him for $1-2 million.

Otherwise just keep cap space to allow more flexibility (I know we lose it next summer but easier to navigate through a loss of cap space to create some if you are not way over the cap).

I love what McD is doing. He is just waiting there and keeps waving his offer in front of LeBron's face. The facts are the facts. The Suns offer LeBron the best situation. They do not have to do anything to sign him outright. They have draft picks going forward, they have quality young players under contract, and they have room to do more.

When you have the best offer and you know it, it gives you a lot of confidence. You might still lose, but it will be be for personal/emotional reasons that are out of your control. In this case, loyalty for Wade and Bosh to stay in Miami or home cooking for Cleveland.

It is fantastic the Suns are in this good of a position.

So would u guys rather have two max players such as lebron and bosh with little depth or just lebron while keeping all of our depth? I'm with the keeping depth and keeping flexibility.

What I don't understand is why Gasol does not just latch on with the Thunder. It would seem that he would make them extremely dangerous.

I think it is all about the money, as usual.

If I were OKC I would keep Durrant and Westbrook for the duration and I expect they will.

Gasol makes more sense in Chicago imo.

Chicago needs a 2 or 3 they already have quite possibly the best overall center in the league as well as a very good PF.

In OKC he becomes a low post scorer and facilitator, which they need in a big way.

Gasol
Ibaka
Durrant
Westbrook
Jackson
