:noway:
Why did we sign this guy for anything more than the minimum?

I don't think he was going to opt out either way. He's pretty much guaranteed another contract with the Heat after two years anyways, so I doubt he'd be losing out on that much money or that many years if he could sign a 2 year deal for the amount he opted out of.

Guaranteed money is always better than pretty much guaranteed and if he is pretty much guaranteed another contract after it really doesn't help us in two years then.

I was only asking if it's possible because in my mind the merit of the idea was obvious. I don't understand how you could say it wouldn't help. Riley has to at least pay Wade the money he opted out of. I'm assuming Wade is looking for something in between 50-60 million dollars for 4 years. If the Heat sign Wade again for two years to what he was owed, then his next contract can be much lower and frees up enough cap space to sign better players. Paying Wade around 20 mil the next two years and 7 mil the two after that, looks much better to me than starting him off at 12 this year and owing him something in the teens his 4th year when he will in all likelihood be worth much less than that. The money would work out to be around the same, but he wouldn't hamstring the future.

Not 1 number 1 pick, not 2 number 1 pick, not 3 number 1 pick, not 4 number 1 pick...

Well we've gotten Wiggins in the draft, resigned Kyrie, and hired a coaching duo of Blatt and Lue (both of whom I believe are far better than Spoelstra) so I'd say this offseason has been pretty successful thus far.

Oh, but Danny Kneeless Granger and Josh McRoberts are pretty good too. I'm sure Lebron is dying to play with those two massive talents.

I usually dont pay any attention to trolls but I cannot ignore how preposterous this all sounds...Wiggins and Bennett are nobodies, Kyrie has never sniffed the playoffs or even played a FULL SEASON.

For all the hate Spoelstra gets from Heat fans. The man has gone to FOUR straight finals and won TWO rings under immense pressure and scrutiny (not to mention succeeding an all time great coach and delivering the playoffs right away)...To compare a guy in David Blatt who has done exactly SQUAT in the NBA and Tyronn Lue who is most famous for being in Allen Iverson's poster to Spo is laughable. The Cavaliers are likely to be in the lottery again. Lebron would be foolish to walk away from the proven infrastructure that Pat Riley has built here since '95 to go to that clownshow...if he goes back its because his wife wants it...

Lebron probably isn't fond of Granger because he's not even worth signing. What's the point in signing somebody who might not even see playing time, if they have bad history with your start player? I'm saying this as somebody who wanted McRoberts and Stephenson on this team btw.

I just don't think the Granger signing is a good basketball or chemistry decision.

Edit: Not that I believe this guy actually knows what Lebron thinks of the signing. I'm just assuming he doesn't like it because Granger brings nothing to the table.

It would help in the same way that Wade taking the minimum would help.

What he would do is sign a 4 year with an opt out and then maybe you can get him to take less again then when the opt out comes up. There is nearly no way he signs for a straight 2 year deal though. Too much stuff can go wrong for him not to have the option. Even if he is down for the exact deal you want he would want the more years and just opt out in two years

lmao look at what those Cavs fans are saying --

When Miami needed Shabazz, Charlotte picked him and traded him to Miami for pieces parts. Maybe Simmons was right when he commented after the Shabazz trade that teams need to stop helping Miami.

Now that we need help in the Jack removal trade department (i.e., Thornton), everyone runs? Maybe the NBA has put out orders not to help Cleveland.

hahahaha, the Cavs fans are admitting that Sam Amico is taking his "sources" DIRECTLY from RealCavsFans posts. One of their most popular posters is named Wine And Gold, and he posted "LeBron will wear the number 32 if he plays for Cavs. I don't really know I'm just having fun"

and lo and behold, Sam Amico tweeted that as a "source" !!

here is a post from over there -----

I wish I could tell Amico how embarrassing he is for just running with Wine and Golds post. Unfortunately, he blocked me months ago for telling him how embarrassing he is.
