Carl, what draft picks are we getting in return for Amare?
We'll get the 3rd round picks from Philly from 2015 until the end of time.

HUH?

Lebron and Melo are waiting on Bosh to make his decision, if he goes to Houston both Melo and Lebron will be going to Miami.
We're really the only other team in play at this point..

Injuries are only relevant and lasting if the player wears a Knick uniform. Come on kane...you've been on the tour.

C=3 A = 1 R = 18
2+6+8 = 16
Start with the C. 16 - 3 = 13.
M = 13.
Take out the C, and remove the 2.
A+R = 19
6+8 = 14
19-14 = 5
5 = E

But that's the whole point. We know the options.

I don't get this if Miami really wanted Melo over Bosh they could just not resign bosh and go from there

What he's saying is how would anyone in the Knicks front office (where carl's source supposedly is) know that Melo has eliminated Chicago, Houston, or Dallas? The only way Carl or anyone would know this is if it came from the Melo camp.
not saying I 100% believe him, however. Would it be out of the realm that Melo is staying in contact with Phil.
I'm sure he isn't keeping the knicks in the dark. Maybe Melo's camp has told Phil and the knicks that we are down to 2-3 teams. So that Phil can rule them out.
I'm sure Phil needs a decision soon and wants to be at least kept in the loop

You target the best players available who fit your system.
Is Boston without Rondo that much more appealing than a Knicks team who just tanked to get a top-10 prospect, to go along with the other picks, MCD, Mirotic, etc, and Calderon?
Gasol and Love wouldn't consider playing together on max deals? Gasol and Millsap?
What you are saying is, without Melo, the Knicks will never sign another big free agent ever. I find that hard to believe.
This sounds exactly like the Gallo/Chandler debate when we said stars would love to play with them.
Well then...
So then let's never ever try to rebuild or create a proper plan? Let's keep overpaying for the Eddie curry's of the world. I guess no one is going to come to NY with Phil Jackson, max contract offers, and young talent.
We're doomed forever if Melo is S&T'd to the Bulls along with the great JR Smith.
