Part of me hopes he leaves because I'd love to see the "heat fans" go into a tizzy.

The other half of me hopes he stays, because that Miami team is doing nothing but getting older, and worse.

I don't really want to deal with a lebron on a young cavs team either. I think the cavs team is far superior to what the heat would have next year, especially if they went out and got Love.

Why would you care? The Bulls are losing either way.

Miami fans are so petty about a team that just lost by the highest amount of difference in NBA finals.

So why did he take a paycut for Miami years ago, but is asking his hometown and original team to make sure they have the most money possible ready for him? If he would take $15m like he did for Miami, Cleveland wouldn't have to use assets to move Jack or if they did they would have another $6 or $7m to spend.

By taking a pay-cut back in 2010 he already lowered his current possible max. If he takes another pay-cut (which I wouldn't mind because that would help Miami field better pieces) means he is again reducing his next max. Then there is also the element about the best player in the game not making the max or not being the highest paid player on his team(s) ever. It's not just about leaving some money on the table, if he never maxes out he is leaving tens of millions of dollars on the table throughout his playing career. I still actually believe if Riley comes to him and says that some player Miami really wants is available and they need more room for him, I could see him taking another slight pay-cut.

I don't think LeBron's leaving Miami. Pat Riley is a genius and he builds nothing but Title teams.
Except for the 90's, 9 years in the 2000's, and half of this current decade Riles has dominated the
NBA. He's putting the finishing touches on the team that will take down the Spurs. He's got Granger
And McRoberts. LeBron and his 2 buddies are gonna stay in Miami. I'll repost this when they sign.

Signing McRoberts and Granger makes it seem as though they know everyone is coming back since they are paying them out of the MLE and BAE and not cap space. If they were worried that LBJ and/or Bosh were leaving, wouldn't they keep their cap space open?

I'm in the minority and actually like those signings a lot.
McRoberts could be their version of Diaw while Granger is low risk/medium-high reward signing.

This is under the assumption that there are no ring chasers joining LeBron. Ray Allen already said he's going where LeBron goes.

Cleveland can just as easily stockpile veteran role players to fill out the roster once LeBron commits.

If basketball reasons are what matters, why not sign in Houston for the same amount and play with actual stars in their prime rather than wait 2 years for Wiggins to be good? He's going to get the same contract in Houston or Cleveland and the Rockets are a far better situation for him.

He's going to get the same contract in Houston or Cleveland and the Rockets are a far better situation for him.

He'd take a massive PR hit if he leaves Miami to go to another team that's not Cleveland, even though it's a much better option for him. And Miami still is on the Eastern Conference so..He still has an easy path to the Conference finals. The West is a dogfight.

Well I have no doubt that he will take the easy route here so he will end up wherever he thinks it will be easiest for him and has nothing to do with loyalty.

Returning has everything to do with loyalty (to the team he spent so many years growing up on and then spurned in spectacular fashion).

He's gone on record saying he regrets the way he announced his decision, at the very least he should have clued in the Cavs FO beforehand if he was going ahead with a televised ego trip.

The Heat RIGHT NOW have the better team to compliment LeBron than the Cavs (players familiar with his style, veterans, shooters, leadership, defensive mentality, established coaching, etc). LeBron going back home doesn't mean an easy trip to the finals. Very young, with little/no playoff experience, ball dominant volume scorers, and an NBA untested coach at the helm. LeBron would be taking a risk for the future

That's a matter of opinion. Maybe it is loyalty or maybe its because he thinks its the easiest way to a another championship. Either way I think that would be his motivation no matter what he chooses.
