I think you need to leave the Cavs twitter/instagram/websites alone for a bit.

Because the Heat won 2 rings that way. You can't win with double bigs with Lebron. He needs space

Yes you can. Lebron can win with a center like Pau, saying he cant makes no sense.

Through what? Who says the organization isn't in deliberations with others and getting those numbers back to the big 3. Only people going through something are people that are falling for every "source".

I just don't get why this whole thing had to happen....if LeBron wanted a 2 year deal why not just opt in?

Here is the answer to your question:

"Heat poised to operate under NFL-style hard cap

The Heat apparently have identified their specific place in this offseason's market:

As an exception(al) team that will operate with an $81 million, NFL-style hard salary cap.

Now, with Monday's agreements with Charlotte Hornets free-agent forward Josh McRoberts and Los Angeles Clippers free-agent swingman Danny Granger, the Heat, with a return of their Big Three core, will know exactly where their payroll can max out.

Because the Heat plan to use the $5.3 million mid-level exception to sign McRoberts and the $2.1 million bi-annual exception for Granger, and because of their position against the NBA luxury tax, the Heat will become locked into a hard cap should James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade return.

It would not be the first time a team has become capped since the 2011 CBA, with the NBA champion San Antonio Spurs, Golden State Warriors, Clippers and Pacers all operating under a hard cap this past season.

The impact, though, could be limiting in a variety of facets:

-- The ability to re-sign Ray Allen, Chris Andersen and Rashard Lewis with the Bird Rights held by those players, the mechanism that allows them to return above the salary cap with raises from their previous salaries.

-- The ability to bid for players released through amnesty waivers, with Carlos Boozer and Kendrick Perkins such possibilities this offseason.

-- The ability to add players through certain sign-and-trade agreements or sign players at the trade deadline or buyout deadlines if the $81 million threshold is reached.

To a degree, that's what made the agreements with McRoberts and Granger somewhat of a surprise, not as much about the choice of those players, but rather the Heat effectively locking themselves into an $81 million payroll by utilizing the full mid-level instead of the $3 million tax-payer midlevel and the $2.1 million bi-annual exception at all.

Had the Heat bypassed the full mid-level and signed Granger nearly for the same dollars at the $1.4 million veteran minimum, they would have been able to exceed the $81 million threshold. That would have allowed for maximum salaries for James, Bosh and Wade, as well as maximum raises for Allen, Andersen and others from last season's roster. Now there has to be selective prudence.

As a matter of perspective, the Heat finished this past season with an $80 million payroll, bypassing both the mid-level and bi-annual exceptions."

Full article:

We have an $81 million payroll. With this in mind we only have Josh McRoberts ($5.3 million), Danny Granger ($2.1 million), Shabazz Napier ($1,032,200), and Norris Cole ($2,038,206) who might not be with the team for too long. Now, if you can follow me on this I am sure that you understand how much is left to be done and all the options that we have to bring new players to this team.

Yea thats still a concern for me as well. Its tough on LeBron as it is to be the leading rebounder.
But I do like that we've upgraded our bench.

yea, but the absolute MOST important position outside of point guard is WEAK

I'll put it this way. I would definitely, front of the line, eagerly sacrifice Bosh for Melo and Pau. I'd do that in a second. If Pau goes where Melo goes and Melo coming here brings Pau too, we have to do that deal. Let Bosh walk

Its too late to think about Pau though...

If anything...*assuming they went with your plan for Melo/Pau*

They should have asked Bosh politely to seek other opportunities....

And somehow LeBron/Wade/Melo/ take a tad less so Gasol can get a nice contract.

but oh well.

Not saying it's true, but Wade and Lebron are friends. And Wade has always said that he wants Lebron to do what's best for Lebron and his family.

I mean its not too late because Bosh hasn't signed and the longer Lebron and melo taking the more i believe the narrative that they are waiting on Bosh, theres no other reason. Lebron knows EXACTLY where he wants to play.

This information would have been more useful to Wade before opting out, if it were true. Which Im sure it isn't.
