He was assistant GM last year too.

He was basically the assistant GM at the pacers when he was the "GM" also.

He was assistant GM last year too.

We made all our stupid decisions last season (Mayo, offering a big contract to Tony Allen, Zaza, Delfino, etc) after Morway came on. Maybe he is better than Hammond, but if he had some measurable impact on how good our moves were last year, it sure didn't translate into a lot.

None of those were trades, like the deal I discussed was, or the ones we're worried about right now.

And I'm sure bringing back Zaza and Delfino weren't Kohl's ideas. Morway wasn't here during either their times, and Hammond during Zaza's. Kohl loved to bring back former mediocre players of his like Dez Mason. The fa offers last offseason had his fingerprints all over them. He's not here anymore.

Hammond has the eye, Morway the sly, and we finally got rid of the other guy. So I think it's a good situation now, actually. We should be optimistic that at worst this will be a neutral offseason, and at best an outstanding one, when the dust settles.

Wade is a pretty good distributor. Better than Knight or Wolters. He shot 55% last season. His problem is he breaks down over the year, we'd easily be a playoff team with him provided he stayed mostly healthy.

It's not even worth worrying about though, why would he want to come here to end his career? He could go to any number of teams where he'd be a better fit and he could go out on top, while making more money.

The only way we consider this is if we think this gets the arena deal done, and even then we need to clear lots of salary to make it happen, I just don't see it unless Wade really, really, really wants to come to Milwaukee. And if he wanted to come here that badly we wouldn't just be hearing about it now.

Yup. In another thread I listed all the major transactions that occurred after Morway was hired. If he was some hidden genius working in the front office he did an extremely impressive job of hiding it.

Could Ennis be on the move?

I get having three strong PG's for their system but a rookie in addition does seem a bit excessive considering how badly they could use help in the front court.

Hibbert is a little more interesting because he's not exactly old and the idea of getting rid of Sanders is appealing, but I'd only do it if we could dump even more salary on the Pacers. And they wouldn't go for that. If you want to overpay a big man without much upside, Greg Monroe is available.

Our FO might have been an unstoppable runaway freight train of disaster when he was hired, its hard to say. Are we sure Morway was brought on as a check to Hammond rather than to bolster him in his power struggle with the cronies?
