I'm speechless right now. My disappointment level with the suns is huge right now. This is why the same teams win over and over. Some teams are dedicated to winning and some are not. Right now the winning isn't that important to the suns.

When you're a playoff team, this signing makes sense. But we're on the outside looking in. Thunder/Spurs/Clippers/Rockets/Warriors/Blazers are for sure making the playoffs. Mavs/Grizzlies/Suns/Nuggets/Wolves/Pelicans are battling for the 7th and 8th seed. We had a Cinderella season, but can we replicate it? Sure, we have guys who are improving, but so do the Pelicans/Wolves, and other teams.
I hope this isn't our only move.

the key thing is - PJs third year is not guaranteed. its front loaded. and good teams DO need role players

the offseason is not done

lets give Ryan some time - as long as Sarver writes the checks and doesn't panic and think we need to sign a bunch of dudes with 30m of cap space - Suns are fine

I have noticed Ennis has not been signed. I think there is something in the hopper - especially talking to Isiah Thomas (which I really don't like)

Raptors? But why would you give Thomas 8 mil instead of keeping the rookie? Could we be signing and trading Bledsoe.....for who? There is no one out there. I am keeping Bledsoe!

Sounds like a deal that scales down. Something like $7.2m, $5.5m, $3.8m

Because he is. It's just the homerism here that make him seem like he isn't.

P.J. Tucker has not signed his 3-year, $16.5M deal with the #Suns yet but the agreement includes a non-guaranteed $3.8M in the third year.

Interesting.

"No impact on Bledsoe's situation"

Looks like Isaiah Thomas is going to be our top FA signing. What the hell...

That is a huge sign, that's the suns have no intention of improving this year. That would be the only reason they would overpay him in the first year.

Well late lottery pick here we come again. This is getting old.

Clearly the Suns front office should crowd source everything through this board and let us make all of the decisions. LOL

Everyone complains at me for the way I post but look in this thread, some of you "guys" are all posting like whiny, weeping vaginas. Good GRIEF.

Do you need me to pick up some **** tampons while I go to Target in a bit? LOOK AT YOURSELVES.

P.J. Tucker: 9.4 pts, 6.5 rbs, 1.7 ast, 1.4 stl, 43% fg, 39% 3pts, 78% ft, 31 mpg

Gordon Hayward: 16.2 ppg, 5.1 rbs, 5.2 ast, 1.4 stl, 41% fg, 30% 3pts, 82% ft, 36 mpg

P.J. Tucker: 3 years, 16.5 million, comes out to 5.5 million a year

Gordon Hayward: 4 years, 63 million, comes out to 15.75 million a year

I have no problem at all with P.J. Tucker's contract. He was the heart of the team and its best perimeter defender. He did not get overpaid like almost every other free agent. The Suns are not done making moves. I sense that something big is going to happen real soon and Suns fans are going to be very excited.

But Paul Coro is useless..

Side note: Warren going to learn really quick on what makes Tucker successful. Expect PJ in his ear the next 3 years.

He partially is. We always overate our own players, just like every other team (board) in the league.

If Tucker's a scrub...what does that make degenerates like Shannon Brown and Beasley?

Overpaid...somewhat. If you think he's getting too much dinero what were your reactions to Josh Childress and Hakim Warrick? It's better that we're not tying up our capspace over the next 4 seasons by offering a max contract to a borderline all star player.

Overrated? Who here rates him higher than the likes of Parsons, Hayward, Deng, Ariza? Two of those players are gone, the other two will likely command an 8 figure salary...I think the advocates of him here appreciate him for what he is, a good locker room leader, defender and rebounder. He provides the intangibles, and while he won't put up big numbers and needs to make wiser decisions on offense sometimes, he was the glue to the Suns team last year. Not exactly starting material, but it's not fair to criticize Tucker for that, as the coaches decide on the starting lineup.

If we get Thomas, I imagine one of Green/Ennis/Ish are getting traded, maybe all 3.

Here's my question for those not happy with the signing.
Who do you want this offseason with who's left?

Deng (he'll get 10-12 mil per)
Ariza (Looking to get 8-10 mil per)
Someone else

I read someone say Tucker is a guy you have on a championship team and we are NOT a championship team. That's fair enough. So who do you replace him with to make us a championship team?

Hayward and Parsons were never an option.

Would you prefer to let the cap space sit and roll with our rookies and who we have? Tucker can mentor Warren over the next two years.
Having a leader like Tucker fits McDonough and Hornacek's vision. They want players who are good people, know how to play team ball, and make an impact in more places other than the scoreboard.

Everyone is free to their opinion but I haven't read one good reason why this was a bad move.

Nobody is being a homer. Everyone knows Tucker's limitations. We know he's not a star. As people have said, he's the glue guy. feel like people want to sign big names for the sake of just signing someone new. Then midway through the year you'd be complaining that it was a bad signing and we should have gone in another direction.

It's a good signing. Outside of LeBron, we weren't title contenders this year. Deng, Ariza, Hayward or Parsons weren't going to lead us to a deep playoff run. This move is solid for the transition back into contention. Remember, we're still rebuilding...
