Sanders is just about as good as Hibbert is younger and much more nimble and athletic. Plus Hibbert costs more.
This has to be a BS rumor as it simply makes no sense. Not even in a Bledsoe scenario.
I think Sanders will be just fine. I like him on this team.

Mostly because that twitter thing a few pages back said we aren't getting Lebron, so a definite smokescreen!
Didn't lebron want to contract us from the league a few years ago?
I will still buy his jersey! What he was saying is best for the NBA. Really, superstar players like LeBron should be able to play for 2 teams so the NBA can make more money.

I think we should just throw a 3 year max offer at Bledsoe (like the Chandler deal) and see what happens. If we get him great, if not no worries.

I would think Bledsoe could get a four year deal elsewhere. Don't think that'll do it.

Possibly, if he wants to wait on LeBron, and Melo, and Bosh, etc. Chandler Parson's might have been able to get a 4 year deal elsewhere to had he waited. Worth a shot anyway.

I'm guessing if Bledsoe was interested in playing for the Bucks, he would have no problem getting an offer sheet. Even though its RFA, its still a a two way street.
I don't understand the point of getting Lin, since he'll be a FA after the year.

Really? How many times do people have to point out we'd be getting an asset with Lin and that would be our motivation to trade for his contract?

That is the most important thing, yes. Also, some of us still believe that he's a young, big, skilled point guard who is just in a terrible team situation for his particular skillset.
People will remember Lin can play if he is on a team without Harden.

Of course there's trade talk about Larry Sanders as soon as I get my bobble head of him! At least it's better than getting the Brandon Jennings one AFTER he was traded. Bucks organization really stepping it up

It's not definitive but if the Bucks were about to trade Sanders I don't think Paschke would be doing interviews with him:
http://www.nba.com/bucks/video/2014/07/ ... v-3324261/
Mostly fluff. But Larry has a pretty authentic smile and seems excited when Duke asks him about Kidd, which also comes in the context of Kidd talking Sanders up to Gardner too.

What a crappy interview. Thanks for posting though.
Great to see Sanders back and feeling good.

paulpressey25 wrote:I know Hibbert is fun to kick around, but swapping he for Sanders would not be the worst deal in the world if Kidd had an accelerated plan to get a PG like Bledsoe. Hibbert was pretty much superior to Sanders until Hibbert had his personal meltdown last winter. Maybe it was caused by Paul George screwing his wife or whatever. Don't know.
If Kidd thought he could reclaim him with a change of scenery, AND the new ownership and Kidd didn't want to tank badly next year, this type of move could have some merit.
I remember that no one wanted AK47 for that period of time he was messed up with his wife and playing Warcraft all night. Hibbert could be the same way.
I don't put a whole lot into a guy's "demeanor" on the court so long as he proves he can play at an elite level (which Hibbert can). But when I look at Hibbert, I see an incredibly mentally/emotionally fragile person.
When he's motivated and healthy, he's a top 5 center in the league. But the second someone challenges him physically or mentally, whether it be coaches, the media, or other players, he just has this tendency to completely disappear.
Larry has a quick temper and sometimes lets guys get under his skin, but his anger issue is more controllable with a proper motivator like Kidd. His problem isn't due to lack of intensity, but more so not being able to channel his anger into his play on the court.
Hibbert is just a guy that I don't feel comfortable paying max money to when he could turn from Marc Gasol into Kwame Brown at a moment's notice. Sure, he doesn't have anywhere near the offensive skills that Hibbert has, but I think Larry is a better talent, younger, cheaper, and more salvageable.

Normally I would think that, but I honestly think players are really interested to see what the next CBA does for them. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Bosh/Melo/LeBron deals have player options after year 2 or 3 just because of that. That's why it doesn't surprise me that Parsons' went for three years (plus the semi-absurd money that was offered).

Yup.
I have no attachment to Sanders. I'd be more than willing to trade him if we could get back something like a top 10 pick (assuming next years draft is as deep as this one) or a younger player that I value as much/more than him that are still on their rookie deals/that are younger...
But trading Sanders for a guy who makes more money, that is older, who isn't even close to as good to Sanders even if Sanders is only playing at like 80% of his full ability...
Well that would be a trade so horrendous that not even Herb Kohl could imagine it.

I am guessing we'd be giving them Mayo too. I know they liked him before. That said, we'd need a pretty strong asset to do this deal.
Hibbert and strong asset for Sanders and Mayo would make it more of an ok deal. Since they don't really have a strong asset for us, it is a clear no deal.

I wouldn't want Hibbert for free

I think sanders is a sack of poo, a bad influence on the lockerroom, horrendously overrated as a player, and id trade him for just about anything...... but please lets not bring up hibbert.

I can't decide if I like Hibbert or Brook Lopez less. Probably Hibbert. Both guys are overhyped based on their size.

Yeah, it's a lot easier in general to take something away (in this case intensity) than create what wasn't already there. We see countless examples of players whose anger is channeled by a strong coach and then they become influential to a big-time winning cause, i.e.: Rasheed Wallace. But how many times do we see that in the other direction with players who are unmotivated or soft becoming tough or intense enough? It seldom does happen, if ever. I can't think of an example off-hand.
Anyways, how was Hibbert ever better than 2012-13 Sanders? He's not quite as good of a defender statistically, he's a much worse rebounder, and both are inefficient offensive players when carrying any of the offensive load. So Hibbert isn't even as good of a reclamation project even if he reaches his potential, he's older, and more expensive. So Sanders for Hibbert is indeed a horrible idea for the Bucks.
