Just one time I wish we were in on a trade acquiring assets.

Yep, annual contracts to guys like Gooden, Zaza, Neal, Mayo, Earl Boykins, Tyronn Lue, Keyon Dooling, etc

Yep- I'll approach the absence of bad moves by the Bucks so far as a positive.

That's just not the standard by which to judge quality organizations. We need to do better than just not making franchise crippling moves.

I don't understand the point of getting Lin, since he'll be a FA after the year.

Really? How many times do people have to point out we'd be getting an asset with Lin and that would be our motivation to trade for his contract?

Not sure if taking on a 1 year 15 million dollar deal for a late 1st rounder is worth it. He would also take time away from guys like Wolters and Knight.

Guys, I don't think we moved on Lin because we think we have a chance at Bledsoe.
The Bulls are the absolute worst.

Sure- but nobody's saying that should be the standard. I just don't expect the front office to suddenly transform into one of the league's savviest in a period of just a couple months.

Just saying maybe we should be optimistic that the Bucks aren't falling over themselves to make a deal.

Eh, lots of reasons to not do the Lin trade.

Is it just Lin and a pick? Who knows, maybe they are in on Bledsoe.

1) We need to collect assets. Taking on anyone for one year in return for a 1st round pick in a loaded draft is a good idea.

2) Lin doesn't have to play over anyone, that's the coach's decision.

3) Knight isn't a PG.

Somebody (anybody) taking playing time from Knight would be excellent, because if he gets fewer minutes, he'll score less, and hopefully be less likely to be re-signed to a fat contract by these idiots in the front office.

He's had 6 years and plenty of failure to show for it. He doesn't get the benefit of doubt because he doesn't deserve it.

I mean that's your opinion and I agree to some extent, but let's not pretend that Hammond was working completely independently from the Herb Kohl model of acquiring middling aging talent to make the 8 seed.

And are we seriously going to trash a guy for not trading for Jeremy Lin and a +25 first round pick next year? No big loss there.

What is the point of having new ownership if they aren't going to transform the front office into a savvier one? The only reason we wouldn't expect us to transform into a savvier one instantly is they made the decision to keep the decision makers from the Kohl era around. That was their decision, they didn't have to keep Hammond and Morway. Keeping them doesn't lower the bar.

If Hammond, Morway, Babcock, etc were really great executives held down by the evil manipulating Kohl then they should be held to the same high standard we would judge a new group of executives. Being happy they haven't already dashed our hopes by making even more terrible signings than they already have in their time here while chasing this year's version of JR Smith shouldn't be the standard with which to judge these guys, and frankly it never should have been.

I would still rather have Lin + 25th-30th pick next year than Bledsoe.

But I wouldn't really like that deal either. You can usually buy picks in that range for cheaper than $15 million.

I'm so tired of the "loaded draft" crap. I don't care how much perceived talent there is in this class. Odds are still that the 25th pick is not gonna amount to much.

I can't fault them for not taking on Lin, especially if they think we have a shot at Bledsoe, but if we end up with a 3/$15 Ramon Sessions/Mario Chalmers the pitchforks will be out.
