This is significant if true. That means we are rolling in the cap space scenario I laid out earlier. Riley is working with 29.6 mil to resign Wade, Haslem and fill out the roster. That figure includes accounting for McRoberts and Granger would be signed after cap space is used with the room exception. If we are looking to resign Chalmers he has a big cap hold of 7 mil; meaning we would need to reup him before that space is used eating up the number further. Birdman's cap hold is reasonable at a little under 1 mil meaning we can hold onto his number and resign him after we fill out the roster if he's down with it. This will be interesting...

if this is true.

What are we going to do? We aren't going to outbid Cuban.

I wasn't saying that we should go after him, it was just a general question.

if the season next year is really bad, say their new coach is terrible, Irving is injured all year, they can't get love, and the kids all start fighting again--I mean, who is to say what Lebron does?

Also, who cares? Their problem now.

I thought I heard somewhere that Wade was looking more like 50 mill over 5--so he would be at 10, and push us up to 12.6--which would be enough for Deng.

By the way.....I was thinking...

what if the new TV contract is hurt by the end of the big 3? With Miami's big 3 gone.....the NBA won't be as interesting. TV contract might not be as lucrative anymore.

Miami was a big draw, to love them or to hate them.

What else is out there though? We could get Chalmers for cheap and he is proven to be a winner. Maybe he gains more confidence now that Lebron is gone.

The 29.6 number already includes McBob's salary, you're double counting it. We'd have roughly ~14M remaining in the scenario you laid out, but we'd still have Chalmer's cap hold or salary number to deal with as well.

I like Wade's response statement about LeBron more than Arison and Riley response statements. He put so much thought into it because they were/are really close friends.
Thanks for all the great memories, LeBron! The show must go on! #Heatnation

That's a good point. No Lebron in the finals either for awhile.
