Of course.

He is worth much more than the min but he'll accept it to play with us.

Needs to make that clear to every other team the moment that he is amnestied.

Since we are under cap we can make a bid at him immediately I believe.

This is considered baiting. This is your only warning.

EDIT: Wait...how many warnings do you already have against your record? Wow.

Still amazed that Pat got Deng at that price in a short term deal.

He refused 3/30 from the team that drafted him!

Players we effectively have under contract now:
Bosh: $20.6m
Cole: $2m
Napier: $1m
Deng: $10m
McRoberts: $5.3m
Granger: $2.1m
------------------------
Total: $41m

Players we could sign and will likely cost more than the minimum:

Wade: ???
Haslem: ???
Birdman: ???
Chalmers: ???
-------------------------
Total: ???

Roster cap hold: $4.5m (the league automatically adds what the remaining players would cost you if they were all signed for the minimum)

Total salary so far: ~$45.5m

Which means we now have a total of ~$17.5m of cap space. (But for every player we sign $0.5m goes off the roster cap hold and is added to the cap space, so if we sign Wade for $12m we will have $6m remaining of the cap space not $5.5m)

If not and Wade misses 20+ games this season, we will barely be 5th-6th seed and a 1st round knockout. I really want this team to compete against LeBron's Cavs; a Wade vs LeBron playoff series has been WAAAY overdue.

if wade gets to 2010 form we are champs :D

I wish. If Wade was at that level again, we'd have a definitive chance at a chip. Such a badass.

athletically he'll never be the same. but he can still be elite with a bigger role now that LeBron is gone. and im hoping this offseason without any medical setbacks, he can get himself right, gets in better conditioning, and lead us next season.

Kind of just realized there's a good possibility Deng is a one year rental. Sucks.

dude wade is getting AT LEAST 17 for the first year

its disrespectful to say he will get 12

im telling you this season will really be the return of wade. hes already proven and has challenged himself to be lighter. and all reports are that you dont really recover tilla year after ossatron treatment much like rashard did this season

wade will be a certified all star this year

Why does Pat has to follow each good signing with a bad one.

Mcbob and Deng were nice signing but Granger and Chalmers are at least questionable. We are runing of cap space...

"Trading newly signed deng+ for whoever"

I am so glad that some of you posters are here and nowhere near our front office with some of your suggestions.

I actually want Wade playing less than 30 a game. I hope he leads from the bench, and at practice, and through other methods, and not so much in MPG or shots per game. Less is more for Wade. I want concentrated Wade. A Wade who gives you his best, albeit in less floor time.

Yep, that's about how I see it as well.

This might jot be popular, but I think we should be going after Turner for Wade's back-up. He'll get the chance to start for probably 10-20 games. After the PO he'll need to take a "prove it" contract.

I love the idea of Rush, but I'm worried about having a rookie who's more of a 3, & someone coming off an ACL (Rush) backing up Wade.

This just occurred to me: remember that instagram post by wade regarding that diet challenge? The guys he had the challenge with left the team. Does he stick with it now?

Better than having him for 4 years. He will opt-out and sign long-term with another team next year.

It serves our purpose to stay competitive while maintaining flexibility.
