Re: The One And Only Offseason Thread 3
We do not need to lose Bledsoe to have Monroe (or Ryan Anderson or Thad Young) on our team.
First, we can make a S&T with Detroit:
Tyler Ennis, Gerarld and Minnesota's pick for Monroe ($52M/ 4 years)
Second, sign Bledsoe ($52M/ 4 years)
Bledsoe/Isaiah
Dragic/Isaiah/Goodwin
P.J. Tucker/T.J. Warren/Marcus
Markieff/Marcus/Tolliver
Monroe/Plumlee/Len
Shavlik and Christmas at the end of the bench.
That team is very good, playoff team for sure with upside to be a contender in the next few years.

Re: The One And Only Offseason Thread 3
If EB doesn't want to sign here then I'd like to see a s&t with Detroit if possible. I don't see the Lakers trading randle as he is literally all they have for a future right now. What Kobe likes really isn't important (or at least it shouldn't be) for the Lakers. I would (don't know if its possible) rather have Lin if we do trade EB to the Lakers. As others have said I think he would thrive in this offense.

We don't have to trade Bledsoe. Nobody can offer him the deal he's looking for. As of yet, nobody has even offered a deal better than Phx's. I'm not sure why our entire fan base seems to be in such a rush to trade our 2nd best player who's super young and has upside. He's a restricted FA. There is no risk you lose him for nothing, and particularly since most teams have used their cap space, our situation is MUCH better than it was a month ago.

Too bad our "Unique Backcourt" also plays defense, unlike one made up of Burke/Exum.
Exhume has perfect size to play SG, big difference imo.

I'm very reluctant to give up Gerald. His shooting was critical for us last year. I think he's still very important to us. Plus, he'll be on a contract year.

I get what you're saying, but he's restricted. If Bledsoe doesn't want to sign here it doesn't really matter.

Also Monroe is a very underated passer, with all the shooters we have around him I think they would benefit from him just as much as he would from them.

But the Suns would need the center spot to make up for what Markieff lacks.
Also the David West comparison may not show David West's defense down low... The guy is immovable and is intimidating, scary dude after all... Could one hit anyone who gets on his bad side, players fear him lol.
If Markieff Morris was playing next to a legit double double big man, someone who dominates the glass night in and night out and takes a lot of effort to contain, id be more confident of him maintains that spot. Maybe bring in Hibbert after all lol.
Or Sanders lol.
But seriously those two on their "good" form seasons are ideal starting centers for the Suns. I like Plumlee but he is ideal as a backup... Len is a baby in terms of big men development.
Let's see how Plumlee develops though, if he could just become a real dominant rebounder and shot changer he may be able to hold the fort.
IMO, Plumlee is better than Hibbert.
If you read my post, I stated "good" form seasons... meaning Hibbert's best season, last year Hibbert was definitely heads and shoulders better than Plumlee... that playoff series against Heat he was the difference.

Re: The One And Only Offseason Thread 3
Just for kicks and giggles..
in my NBA2K14, I traded Bledsoe to Lakers for future picks, Lamb and Perry Jones (3-way trade), they still suck though.
But I'm slightly disturbed on the derision on Bledsoe here now...
We have to remember, his agent is probably the one pushing for the max, Bledsoe probably wants to negotiate his 4/48 to somewhere like 4/52, which is decent and fair, but his agent is strong-arming him to stay quiet and let him negotiate. Rich Paul has no experience in negotiating deals IMO.... as most have said... he has 1 agent who gets max... by default. Any of us here could get Lebron James max contracts on our sleep... easiest job on the planet.

I honestly think unless we get a truly great trade offer, we're going to keep Bledsoe for well less than the max. That's way better than everyone expected heading into the offseason.

Yes, but you have to give value to get a player like Monroe. Gerald is our only tradeable good player (Markieff & Marcus have to stay together) and Plumlee is gold at $1M contract.

We wouldn't have to trade anyone for Monroe we could just sign him and hope Detroit doesn't match.

I understand his whole contract situation very much. My concern is his health. That is literally the only reason I would and am willing to trade him. Knee problems don't go away and really its only a matter of time before it surfaces again. We dodged one bullet with Eric Gordon, I would hate to be an I told you so guy 2 years down the road. Give me a center that has played in all but like 10 games over 4 years that avgs 15/10 on a terrible team over a dude that has "potential"......potential to be a 20/6/6 as well as a permanent on the IR. Bledsoe has a terribly concerning injury history and i feel like many suns fans are blinded by his mini lebron flash in the pan potential. Eric Bledsoe WILL MISS SIGNIFICANT TIME IN HIS NEXT CONTRACT.

If you don't trust our medical staff to properly evaluate injury risks, then I don't know what to tell you. If they think it's a huge concern, then yes, trade him, but if we're willing to throw 4/48 offers to him I don't think they're all that concerned about it.

If you give Monroe 4/48, Pistons will match.

The difference is that we could pay both bledsoe and monroe. No other team besides the 6ers have that luxury.
