I can't wait to see Dragic-Bledsoe-Thomas wreak havoc on opposing defenses, Len's improvement, and Warren immediately proving his worth as a point-a-minute player. I'm also excited to see Kieff come back as a starter, with a chip on his shoulder, ready to prove his haters wrong.
Last year I was most excited early on to watch Len, and became more invested in the team's success as pleasant surprise turned into reasonable hope. But this year I'm interested in all our guys. I'm more attached. I want them to succeed individually and as a team. Just look at this:
Bledsoe/Thomas
Dragic/Green
Tucker/Warren
Morris/Morris
Plumlee/Len
When healthy, we're going to have tremendous depth. But we won't be alone in that respect in the west. When healthy, I'd say the Nuggets, Warriors, Grizzlies, and Spurs are all just as deep (I'd also include the Thunder but for that gaping hole at the 2).
I just can't wait to see how good that team is. It looks better to me, but it's really hard to tell if the west improved. I'm not a believer in Dallas, but Denver's going to be better. Golden State added Livingston, butHouston's down a peg. LA swapped Collison for Hawes, but their 2/3 situation doesn't look any better. The Lakers are better, but that's not saying much. Memphis may be better, but Minnesota's worse. New Orleans up with Asik, but the Thunder have a lot of youth developing and should be better. Portland stayed still, Sacramento chased its own tail, while San Antonio decays so slowly its hard to measure. One other team I'm excited to watch is Utah, but they probably won't win much.
The thing about trying to project minutes though... it's silly mostly because of how versatile our roster is. I could see Green on Thomas playing a see-saw with minutes depending on match-ups. Who knows how big a role TJ will play. Tolliver could see a lot of minutes at C on nights where it's clear we need to spread the floor. So averaging those numbers really won't tell us much about what we'll see out there.
Glad I'm not in Phoenix, or the summer would seem to last forever.
I agree - we need to move forward with what we have!
You should be in PHX. Its only 109!
At least you guys get a dry heat. Here in Missouri it was like 90 today with so much humidity that being outside for more than 5 mins would leave you drenched in sweat
